Today is the Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2012 Runway show and of course Amanda, Vlad, and I will be there. But we aren’t just attending, we are going to share the show with you through our eyes. Vlad and I will be backstage and while he snaps photos to share with you all later, I will be taking photos non-stop with my iPhone. And because I am Instagram obsessed, I will be sharing all of these photos on our Instagram while also taking over Rebecca Minkoff’s Instagram account for the day.

Even if you aren’t at the show, be part of the show by following PurseBlog and RebeccaMinkoff on Instagram! And watch the show live today at 3pm EST at this link.

Phase I of of PurseForum + Rebecca Minkoff Exclusive Bag Design Collaboration took the PurseForum readers and voters by storm. The overwhelming number of votes went to the coveted Satchel, which we all know Rebecca Minkoff designs amazingly. Phase II is well underway and this is the phase I have been most excited about.

Have you ever wanted to tell a designer EXACTLY what you want to see in a handbag? How you prefer adjustable straps or tech-friendly pockets or a zipper top? Now is your chance, and I am not sure anyone has been able to say this before. With the help of every reader, customer, and Rebecca Minkoff fan girl, the final bag design will take into account your direct feedback.

Time is running out for an unprecedented opportunity, one in which you can speak to a designer and tell her what you want to see. With your votes and direct input, the finished product may be exactly what you are looking for. How amazing is that?

Take part in Phase II of our exclusive collaboration now!

One of our favorite designers (and new mommy to a baby boy), Rebecca Minkoff, will be running her first print ad in October’s debut issue of Style.com Magazine. Always ahead of the curve, Rebecca Minkoff has decided to turn to her fans to help create the ad by submitting Instagram photos of their Rebecca Minkoff items.

To make sure the RM team sees your entries, simply tag every photo on Instagram that you want to enter with #RebeccaMinkoff between now and October 1. I am already taking photos (shown above) and hope to see many of you participate as well. Some of their favorite entries will be included alongside professional shots of accessories and her Resort 2012 collection.

Transitioning from The Box last season to a large stage today, Rebecca Minkoff took on Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York full-force. When the lights went down we did not see a model strut down the runway at first, instead we were serenaded by Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. The vibe was set, a throwback to the 60’s with a gypsy feel. And then came the models, the clothing, the shoes, and the bags.

While the RTW was what most people were eying, it was obviously the handbags that caught our attention. We saw some familiar shapes, but overall the bags that hit the runway were of the small hand-held variety with a punk touch. Rebecca Minkoff did what we love to see, used her handbags as the eye-catching accessory that they are meant to be. There were bold colors, including blues and greens, along with fur accents and leopard print. (more…)

We will continue bringing you the latest Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York news throughout the week. And luckily, for both you and us, we have the exclusive first look of a few Rebecca Minkoff F/W 2011 Bags. Let’s all just outwardly admit how totally cool this is.

We will be at the Rebecca Minkoff show today and bringing you a full runway review with many more photos later! But for now, delight in this sneak preview that you can’t get anywhere other than PurseBlog.com! (more…)

Tonight was VIP night of the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale. Vlad and I had the pleasure to host the event with Rebecca. Believe it or not, this is our first RM Sample Sale to attend. We expected mayhem and tons of bags. We got both, along with the opportunity to meet some amazing PurseBlog readers and PurseForum members.

When we first arrived, the line was already 30 deep. Vlad and I walked up to the door which most likely annoyed everyone that had waited for hours. I don’t think many know us by face so we clearly looked like those people trying to cut everyone in line. The security guard inside was baffled by our trying to walk in to check out the loot as well. But he opened the door and realized we were supposed to be there, so he let us inside. (more…)

I’d like to share with you all my current bag obsession and bag that I personally can not put down. We have talked about the Rebecca Minkoff Rocker before. Well, the exact Rocker Amanda covered I own. And I never gave it much love until the past three weeks. Let me tell you something, I literally can not put it down. (more…)

A entire feeling of joy and excitement just came over me when I realized that the next round of Sample Sale season will be when Vlad and I live in NYC. That means I won’t have to post about these Sample Sales that I am dying to go to but can’t, rather I can bring you updated posts a-la-Racked style with photos and a play-by-play of the event.

One of the sample sales that is much awaited by PurseBlog and PurseForum members is Rebecca Minkoff‘s. Because of her huge PurseForum fan base, Rebecca continues to open up a VIP night for the members. The lines from what I have heard are long but the loot is good. Here are both sample sale invites: the one for the VIP night (you all) and the one for the public (if you cannot make VIP night). Make sure to pop over to PurseForum then to chat with other Minkettes about the sample sale madness! (more…)

After releasing a capsule collection for HSN, Rebecca Minkoff has decided to debut a luxury handbag collection exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue this May. For its first collection, iconic Rebecca Minkoff bags such as the Nikki and Morning After bag are being refined in lizard skin and other luxe materials. Along with some of her well-known designs, Rebecca Minkoff is introducing new shapes to the line. Some of these include a drawstring bucket bag, oversized classic tote, and a side-saddle messenger bag.

I chose to partner with Saks to launch my collection line because of the timeless luxury and superior quality the store represents,” said Minkoff. “It is an exciting honor to join the list of exclusive luxury handbag designers available at Saks Fifth Avenue. Saks customers are already familiar with the current Rebecca Minkoff line and have been very supportive over the years. I am hoping to not only provide my existing customers with a more luxurious option, but to also tap into a new set of young Saks shoppers who purchase designer bags for the style and quality, not just the label.
