Marc Jacobs Python Thrash Clutch

Marc Jacobs has combined two of the season’s top trends into one compact clutch. The Marc Jacobs Python Thrash Clutch ($1895 at Barneys) touts a python quilted and embellished with studs. The quilting AND studs seem to be a bit of texture overdose on this very petite bag. But somehow the angular shape of the diamond shaped studs combined in a criss cross pattern of quilted stitching seems to unify the design. Although, I am a bit confused about the metal padlock which seems to be dangling without a purpose in the middle of the bag. (more…)

Now lookie at what we have here. Hmmm. There is something that I kind of like about it but I can’t quite put my finger on. Well, first of all, I have yet to own a red handbag. I realize I probably should at least have a red clutch, but that isn’t the case. I am trying to diversify my handbag collection and I am pretty sure a red handbag is much needed. So will a Kate Spade bag be one to break into my collection? Maybe! (more…)

I wrote about a Marc by Marc Jacobs man bag today for PurseBlog Savvy, and it got me thinking about man bags in general. Most of them are fairly unisex – a woman could easily use most of them as travel or office bags. Also, many are beautiful in their own right, although they don’t show up when I go looking for handbags to write about at Saks or Nordstrom. So I decided to go searching for one to gush over for the enjoyment of everyone here.

And did I ever find one. The Bottega Veneta Quilted Briefcase has some of the most gorgeous details of any man bag I’ve ever seen. (more…)

I said not too long ago that I was experiencing some ennui in regards to the Marc Jacobs Stam, but as it turns out, I was wrong. That’s right, I’m a big, fat liar. Because I’m in love with the Stam again, and this time it’s because of the Marc Jacobs Stardust Stam. If this is an It-Bag gone wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

Marc Jacobs Stardust Stam

Not only do I love the name (it reminds me of Las Vegas, a city which I am newly obsessed with thanks to The Hangover), but the updates are subtle enough to retain the charm of the original Stam while still being interesting enough to catch the eye of any handbag fan that’s familiar with the line. Studs are a somewhat trendy bag accent, but the ones here are small enough to not overpower an already iconic design. Plus, there’s the color – a beautiful, bright teal that will add a pop of color to any drab winter outfit. I’m usually not much for gold hardware, but I still think that it’s the only way to go with the Stam, and the combination here is beautiful. Buy through Nordstrom for $1450.
