This week has been rife with mind-boggling-ly (is that a word?) good sales, but the handbag selection at Neiman Marcus Designer Sale is particularly killer. I was just chatting with Amanda about the markdowns, and …

We don’t cover Marni all that often, but many times when we do we praise the brand for their sleek, minimal, and geometric designs. But this bag is a giant purple-people-eater-flop. I’ll give credit where credit is due and say the leather looks nice. Otherwise I am not keen on any design element and the overall appearance is really just silly. It is like a casual yoga bag meets high priced price tag with a weird out-of-place ribbon dangling on the front.

Marni, what were you thinking with your Ribbon-Trimmed Square Leather Tote? (more…)

Talk about a departure from the expected. When I think of Marni, I think of clean lines and geometric shapes, but this Marni bag is entirely different. Fur. Yes, an entire bag covered in alpaca fur from the designer who typically brings us the cleanest colors, lines, and looks. (more…)

Marni Geometric Leather Clutch

Simply put, I love this clutch. Marni has a way of bringing together clean lines with contrasting colors and just making it work. Everything about the Marni Geometric Leather Clutch works for me. From the white calf-leather with contrast black piping, to the slightly ruched body, to the simplicity of the gold-tone hardware with twist lock closure, all aspects of this clutch combine to get the job done. It feels entirely clean. Looking at this clutch reminds me of walking into a completely white walls and floor modern space, which is accented perfectly and everything is in place. Simple and hassle-free. Looking at this clutch nearly gives me a clear mind. And that is a feat in and of itself. Absolutely love it. No other way to put it. Buy through Net A Porter for $865.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I am wearing my stretchy pants right now and sitting down to get back into the grind. We are starting the week off with a Marni bag. Marni handbags have not been my absolute favorite bags. They offer a modern touch, have an edgy appeal, but many times they just did not do it for me, even though I tend to be drawn toward a more modern look. But now I can officially say that I found a Marni bag that I adore, the Marni Pouchette Clutch. In the most perfect hue of green, this mint leather pouchette is easily lovable! There is a black acrylic frame with a silver metal clasp to fasten. And now that we are in the season of black and grey ensembles, this pop of fresh mint leather will surely brighten up any outfit. There is a small open pouch on the inside and is fully lined. Thank you Marni for giving me a bag to adore. Buy through Net A Porter for $1125.

Marni Patent Shoulder Bag

Marni has been known for its modern touches and geometric shapes on its bags. I have been a huge fan of Marni in the past, yet I am not sure that this purse is for me. A runway look, the Marni Patent Shoulder Bag is designed with bright green patent leather on its framed body. The top frame is black and there are brown leather handles. The clean lines give a fresh look and a no hassle feel. There is no fuss about this bag, just simplicity with emphasis on a color burst. Is this bag too much at once or the perfect addition of color? This bag is funky, urban chic, and a great burst of color.
