Did anyone watch Sports Night back in the early 2000s? It was the show that Aaron Sorkin did before The West Wing, and it was an excellent, if short-lived, peek behind the scenes of a SportsCenter-type broadcast. In one episode, the taken-for-granted wardrobe girl went off on one of the show’s hosts about how her job was important because if dressing was left up to him, he’d never figure out which undertones went with what colors and he’d end up looking like crap.

Well, whoever designed the LeSportsac Blue Steel Small Crossbody Bag probably should have borrowed my DVDs of the show and listened to her rant, because this bag is kind of adorable…except for the out-of-nowhere gold hardware and trim. Although if the bag’s name is a Zoolander reference, I’m willing to forgive the designers. (more…)

Ok, so maybe this is actually cheetah print, as the play on words in the name of the pattern implies. That’s just a technicality, and the word “cheetah” didn’t fit nicely within the alliteration of this post’s title, and I’m not sure I could tell the difference anyway. Although I’m pretty sure that there is a difference (besides the obvious fact that cheetahs and leopards are different animals).

Anyway, now that we have that cleared up, let’s discuss the bag. I have travel on my mind lately, and the LeSportsac Cheater Passerby Bag seems like a good way to keep it there. (more…)

I’m more of a yoga mat strap person myself, but certainly there are a lot of people out there who use trendy bags to hoist their sweaty yoga mat home after class. Some of those bags are not so trendy, but that’s a discussion topic for another time. So when I spotted this LeSportsac Patent Asana Yoga Bag, I wondered, “Whatever happened to the age of the trendy yoga bags?” Like the age of the “it-bag,” that age that spawned the Fendi Spy and the Chloe Paddington, this one’s gone. In fact, this is one of only two yoga bags on ShopBop at the moment, both LeSportsac. (more…)

As I write this from a lovely pleather chair in the airport, laptop firmly secured in my lap, travel bags become oh-so-noticeable to me as they always do when I travel. But the difference now is that we’re currently in a state of complete chilliness and massive mounds of snow coat all available outdoor surfaces. Considering this, this LeSportsac Black Patent Small Weekender fits the bill for a snow day travel bag.

I differ from many bag-lovers in my color preferences; I rarely choose black bags. In fact, I’m not sure I own a black bag. But this small weekender is particularly mesmerizing to me, especially if I imagine it against a background of pure, white, beautiful snow. Actually, the majority of the snow in the city has now been transformed into a squishy brown slush that sticks to the bottom of your shoes and makes you fall up a massive outdoor staircase as a massive amount of tourist watches. True story, but it only increases my case for this shiny weekender. (more…)

At first, I was really excited when I initially saw the LeSportsac Pop Shopper. I thought, how wonderful! A bag that folds up super tiny that you can throw in your regular bag and pull out if you get caught in the rain or if you make an impromptu trip to the grocery to grab a few things and don’t want to waste a plastic bag!

But, upon further examination, that’s not exactly the case. It’s just a nylon bag that comes with a little pouch. Anyone else a bit disappointed? (more…)

I was never much of a backpack girl after, say, eight grade. Once the teens set in, it was just so lame to carry a backpack.

Well, now that I’m in my 20s and I have no idea what 14-year-olds might consider cool (nor do I care), I find myself kind of enjoying the LeSportsac Pearl Lightning Drew Backpack. I have no use for it and even if I did, I would probably get it dirty, but this shiny little backpack is oddly appealing. (more…)

Normally I’m not a big proponent of buying designer stuff to do utilitarian things. I don’t need flashlights, playing cards, and toilet paper to be adorned with designer insignia in order to feel comfortable incorporating it into my life and using it very day.

But that doesn’t mean that something isn’t utilitarian and useful just because it was made my a brand, which is exactly what the LeSportsac Big Laptop Case is. It’s functional and non-pretentious, which is exactly what we should all expect from LeSportsac. (more…)
