Anytime I travel I find myself staring at handbags and travel bags throughout the airport and on the plane. And each time I arrive at my final destination I think back and wonder why there aren’t better travel/carry on bags out there. For the most part, everything seems basic and boring. I have to say, I am a culprit as well. My handbag is always fabulous but my travel bags, well, not so much. I really could have used a bag like this Lauren Merkin Paige Croc-Embossed Duffel Bag when I was traveling over the weekend. (more…)
Not too long ago, I wrote a post about how much I don’t like colored python bags. I was really certain that that’s how I felt, and I didn’t think twice about it. Well, because that’s just how I am, I seem to have managed to prove myself wrong. I really, really like the Lauren Merkin Tess Painted Minibag.
I’ve seen other multicolored python bags that I liked since then as well – it was like as soon as I put that sentiment out into the world, the universe set its sights on proving that I’m an idiot. Normally, I would feel a little weird about that, but if it means that I keep seeing cute bags then I wouldn’t change things for the world. (more…)
Each time I see designer name, Lauren Merkin, I think – clutches. I have become so accustom to checking out Lauren Merkin clutches that I almost forget that she designs other handbags too. So, each time I come across something other than a clutch of hers, I am pretty pleased. I’ve been a fan of her clutches for quite some time now, so by default I expect something great from her other bags as well. Luckily, she rarely disappoints me. (more…)

Now, here’s a larger alternative to the clutch that I’m quite warmed up to. Though the Lauren Merkin clutch is eponymous, the brand is playing with their comfort zone with this bag. Sure, this Lauren Merkin Tess Pebbled Bag is a tad different than what we’re used to from the designer, but for those of your skeptics and nostalgics- look there, right in the center! A single inverted pleat acts as a nod to the Merkin style we know and love. (more…)
Oh my goodness folks, this is a Lauren Merkin clutch. Who would have thought? I’ve become so used to the classic design of Lauren Merkin clutches that I actually did a double take when I came across the Lauren Merkin Snake Fringe Clutch. After I got passed my state of surprise, I found myself liking this clutch. (more…)
I can’t help it. I’m in love with the color of the Lauren Merkin Lucy Glossy Croc Clutch. It’s just teal enough to be eye-catching without being bright and obnoxious. It would go with a variety of neutrals and brights and either stand on its own or blend in a bit. I’ll even forgive the fake stamped croc. (more…)
Boo, I’m bored. I’ve sat looking at this handbag intermittently all day, and the more I look at it, the more depressed it makes me. It’s making the walls close in on me.
I started out liking the Lauren Merkin Bailey Saddle Bag, but it has somehow managed to take me prisoner with it’s overwhelming blah-ness. Ms. Merkin makes a lot of great, functional bags, but I think this one is a miss. (more…)
I am so used to thinking “clutch” when I come across a Lauren Merkin handbag that I could hardly believe this bag was a Lauren Merkin. But once I got passed my initial shock, I decided the bag was worth a real look. My first thought was, I really wish there was a different background. The color of the bag and background are so similar that it is a little distracting. (more…)
