With so many people saying that yesterday’s ASOS oversized clutches looked like laptop cases, it’s such a coincidence that I should run across photo of a Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumble Neoprene Laptop Case used as a clutch today. Photographed by the immensely talented Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil blog, on what appears to be the streets of Italy, this stylish lady (who I am sure is a fashion editor, her name just isn’t jumping to the front of my mind) looks lovely with something other than a computer inside her laptop case.
Ok, you’re right, that’s an exaggeration. Attractive laptop cases have graced this mortal coil in the past, just not often. And somehow, increasing a laptop case’s price point doesn’t generally increase its attractiveness; I’ve seen just as many ugly designer cases as non-designer ones.

It wasn’t so many years ago that I was schlepping a 15-inch MacBook Pro around a far-too-large college campus, but it seems like tech options for stylish students have exploded since my graduation in 2008. Honestly, I’m a little jealous – my black neoprene laptop sleeve is positively awful compared to all of the options college kids have now.
Now that high-end brands are hopping on the bandwagon at somewhat reasonable price points (my boring black sleeve cost about $60 with no fancy design whatsoever), we have a whole new category of bag to discuss: the luxe laptop case.
