I am undoubtedly a Lanvin fan. However, the thing about that is that while I do love Lanvin handbags, I don’t necessarily always go out looking for a new Lanvin bag. The great thing is, they always seem to come to me. When I least expect it, a fabulous bag pops up and takes my breath away.

This is essentially what happened when I came across the Lanvin Pouchette Python Small Shoulder Bag. Admittedly, the first thing that caught my eye was the multicolored pompom. In fact, the pompom brought a smile and induced a bit of a giggle. I haven’t seen a pompom in so long and I actually loved the fun and flirty take on the otherwise high school-esque item. But, that is just one element; this bag is so much more. (more…)

Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I am a fan of the day of romance, in spite of the overblown commercialism. A true romantic at heart I adore all things pink, girly, and sweet – but all in good taste of course. And even better if there is an edge to the sweetness! Can you say Lanvin? Well I’ve scouted out some heart inspired handbags and accessories to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day. I’d much rather receive a handbag than perfume or candy, wouldn’t you? (more…)

If you are in search of a unique evening bag for your holiday and New Years celebrations consider the Lanvin Aumoniere satin pochette ($750 at Net-a-Porter). This adorable petite bag has a very vintage inspired look to it. This bag could have been your grandmother’s and looks just as modern today as it might have fifty years ago. Translated as “little pocket” the Lanvin Aumoniere is made of classic black satin and features satin drawstring handles which gather up to close the bag. There is also an optional gold-tone metal chain strap which I think detracts from the elegant simplicity for of the Lanvin Aumoniere satin pochette. Inside you’ll find a small pouch pocket with just enough space for keeping your keys and cel phone in place. The expandable sack-like shape of this bag, although small is perfect for toting your evening essentials as you welcome in 2010! (more…)

I am forever suspicious of satin. Satin bags, satin shoes, satin dresses – owning any of it seems like a cosmic challenge to no longer be myself. Which is, more or less, a challenge to not spill food, to not wipe my fingers on my clothes when I don’t have a napkin, and to suddenly start sitting in such a way that I don’t wrinkle anything. All in all, none of that is going to happen. Ever. I have ONE satin piece of clothing, and it has a greasy fried chicken stain on it.

Knowing me, I don’t think I could ever put a thousand dollars into a satin clutch, even one as lovely as the Lanvin Oulala Satin Clutch, but could you? (more…)

Believe it or not the house of Lanvin is 120 years old! In the past few years the brand has enjoyed a renewed popularity amongst fashionistas, and we couldn’t be happier. Of course we are fans of the house of Lanvin inspired by the Impressionists and founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. The brand is famous for its pretty delicate palette, detailed trimmings, embroideries and embellishments. Lanvin’s designs experienced a wide popularity in the 1920’s and ’30s and became an icon of roaring ’20s feminine Parisian chic. Today designer Alber Elbaz’s modern touches to the house of Lanvin bring a luxurious edge to its trendsetting designs. (more…)

Miu Miu, Fendi and Lanvin

Net A Porter brings us some of their favorite handbags of the season. This group of three is a fashionable trio showing Miu Miu, Fendi and Lanvin. Our personal favorite is the Lanvin bag, with perfect gold stamped-python metallic leather.

Fendi Fly Leather Shoulder Bag | $1,460

Alber Elbaz, all is forgiven. I’ve groused and complained and wrinkled my nose at my fair share of Lanvin bags lately, but the Lanvin Amalia Python Shoulder Bag is good enough to absolve the brand of all their Chanel-aping sins.

The combination of simple shape and intricate material, plus a few Lanvin-signature extra, have me absolutely salivating for this bag. (more…)

If this bag is any indication, Lanvin is continuing their endless mission to morph their bag line into an a slighty hipster-y version of Chanel. I generally hate it when others complain that a bag looks like it’s Chanel just because it’s quilted or has a chain handle, but I can’t help but think that it’s an incredibly apt comparison in this case.

Not only is the Lanvin Happy Sac Partage Bag bag quilted, but it also has a chain handle, and its a flap bag with a front closure, just like a few other bags we’ve all seen in the past. (more…)

Lanvin is my new obsession. After I saw the Lanvin Happy Partage Metallic Bag I could not stop picturing myself with that bag. Jeans and a white tee, little black dress, skirt. You name it, I pictured myself with it. (more…)

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Lanvin bag that I wanted to carry everyday. Same for a brown bag – that color just doesn’t jibe well with my mostly black wardrobe, and as a result, I’m not commonly attracted to bags of that color since I know I won’t get much wear out of them. For some reason, though, those two things combine in the Lanvin Amalia Quilted Cabas Tote to make a bag that I’d love to wear.

A huge portion of the bag’s appeal is the milk chocolate leather. The bag is made entirely of lambskin, which looks so soft and tactile that I can’t help but want to reach through my screen and grope the bag. The surface is largely unobstructed by other design elements, and the result is a smooth expanse of leather that looks like it might actually taste like a Hershey bar if you licked it. Not that I’m advocating that you lick your bags, of course. But wouldn’t it be cool if it did? Even in it’s current state, I’d take this bag in a heartbeat. Buy through Luisa Via Roma for $1561.

Look at what we have here. This is the kind of bag that I actually find myself yearning for yet I can’t quite put my finger on why. I think it is the intricate detailing that goes into the Lanvin Happy Mini Pop Satin Bag that has lured me in. I don’t have a plethora of mustard colored items in my closet because sometimes I feel as though the color looks a bit drab. But this is definitely not the case here.

The stitch detailing throughout is gorgeous. This is a look that can be executed perfectly on a small bag like this one. Now, add the chainlink handle that is woven with grosgrain ribbon and boasts a floral crosage and this look is just perfection. And you know me, I love when handbags can be used in a variety of ways. Whether you see it right now or not, this bag is actually rather versatile. A clear favorite would be pairing the bag with one of your fancier outfits. However, I’d love to sling it over my shoulder as I wear a pair of boyfriend jeans and a white t-shirt while letting the bag speak for itself. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1240.

Ohh it has hit me. I have a new love and it is this sexy little bag. It has all the makings of a great bag, it is chic and sexy and metallic and I love it! The Lanvin Happy Partage Metallic Lame Bag includes everything that a great handbag should.

The gunmetal color offers the perfect tinge of metallic which continues to be a must have for a handbag collection. I am feeling at a loss for words, because I just adore this bag. The gold-tone chain and leather shoulder strap gives a shabby chic vibe, that it totally rocking in my book. I just want it. I don’t need it, but I want it. Really badly. It will rock skinnys and a tee during the day and dress up your LBD at night. I attempted to put place myself on a handbag ban, but I could cave for this Lanvin bag. Buy through Net A Porter for $1915.
