Eva Longoria isn’t a fashion star in the same way that some of the people we’ve profiled (like Miranda Kerr) are fashion stars, but she’s a celeb who knows exactly what she likes, has a …

The Katherine Kwei Donna Clutch is as recognizable and stand-out as they come. The knotting technique Kwei uses for her designs is not seen with any other designer, which is clearly her individuality factor. And because of this, it is hard to miss one of her designs.
Recently, Fergie was seen pairing her colorful fuchsia Katherine Kwei Donna Clutch with her black on black outfit. There are so many reasons why this work, including the fact that her somber outfit desperately needs a pop of color. The Donna Clutch has been seen in a variety of materials, including watersnake, but I think I have found my favorite rendition. I am clearly drawn to hot pink (like my Botkier Venice Hobo). Not everyone wants such a bright splash of color on a larger bag, so it is perfect to opt for a clutch. Buy via Saks for $645. (more…)
My family spends Christmas Eve with family friends who throw an amazing party every year. It is now a staple of our holidays and an event that we look forward to. This year Shannon and I put down our bags for a moment and Vlad took the opportunity to capture a shot.
My bag, a 2004 navy blue and white Chanel bag is a little treat I love to bring out. Small, light-weight, feminine, and still very Chanel. Shannon added a bit of glitz to her outfit carrying a gift from Katherine Kwei herself, a Donna Clutch in metallic water snake.
For those of you who have been following us here at Purse Blog for a while, you probably remember reading about handbag designer, Katherine Kwei. Her intricate designs and attention to detail help make her bags the unique masterpieces they are. I fell in love with the Donna Clutch and can’t wait to add it to my collection. There is no way you will find another clutch out there like it.
Well, we have a lovely update for you about all the amazing stuff going on with Katherine Kwei and her line. I love getting a chance to speak with designers and hear about the latest and greatest. It’s as if I am dishing info with a close friend! And since you know me and what a hard time I have keeping secrets, it’s not a coincidence that I am sharing this update today. (more…)
Some bags look great in photos and terrible in person, some look the same in both, and some look blah in photos and amazing in person. Even though the Katherine Kwei Joyce Carryall looks pretty good, if a tad sloppy, in its photos, I think it would look beyond amazing in person.
Obviously, two things jump out at first: the color and the knotting. Let’s talk about the knotting first, shall we?
We introduced you to the Katherine Kwei line a while back, and I think her bags are so interesting that they’re worth revisiting in a more detailed way. Right now, I’m going to focus on the Donna Clutch for no other reason than because it’s my favorite, and I’m the one that’s in the pleasant position of getting to decide what we talk about right now.
With some brands, their line has a shtick, and either you like it or you don’t. Kwei’s shtick is fringe, as we saw previously, and luckily I love it. My favorite part of the way that she does fringe is that it’s all gathered and attached at the bottom. You get the advantage of the texture and a bit of movement, but not the full-on swingy, messy milieu that loose fringe would create. It also creates visual interest in absence of a pattern, exterior pockets, or other types of decoration, making it easier to match while still being a bag that’s fundamentally interesting to look at. Dark silver is one of my favorite neutrals; I can think of dozens of things in my closet with which this would go beautifully. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $635.
