Even though my last days on campus at the University of Georgia were as recent as 2008, a lot has changed, technologically speaking, in those intervening five years. My little flip phone, which was by …

The Best Accessories of Spring 2013

Recently, we’ve talked about both the best ways to carry a clear bag and how to organize your belongings in a big bag, so it only seemed appropriate that we get down to the nitty-gritty …

It’s June, which means that the Internet is positively overrun with sales and discounts and opportunities for impulse-buying galore, but ladies aren’t the only ones who can participate in the veritable free-for-all. Dudes need sales …

Python, brights, neon, trends, Spring 2012, etc. You guys know the drill. I’ve typed variations on that sentence a million times already and it’s only February, and based on my own personal contemplation of the purchase of an orange lace dress yesterday, I don’t think it’s going to abate anytime soon. That’s fine by me; summer is a time to enjoy a particular sort of fashion extreme, and that opportunity should be seized while it’s still available.

Emilio Pucci, it would seem, is all about seizing the opportunity. Or at least seizing the python – the new batch of Emilio Pucci Python Accessories that just hit Net-a-Porter will envelope everything from passports to iPad in bold snakeskin goodness. The stuff inside your bag wants to get in on the trend too, naturally. Lucky for all of us, these pieces come in multiple colors. (more…)

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced holiday gift that you’re sure the recipient has a use for, it’s hard to go wrong with something tech-y. No matter how girly the girl, we all have …

What if the case in question were the acid yellow Proenza Schouler iPad Case, which is easily the least iPad-case-looking designer iPad case I’ve seen since the advent of the product? How many more times do you think I can work the phrase “iPad case” into this post? I’d say that the over-under is six.

Anyway, this thing’s kind of a looker, right? And at $685, it’s cheaper than any of Proenza Schouler’s other clutches by a long shot, and unlike most spendy iPad cases (1), this one actually has a functional front flap pocket and the same detailing as the rest of the brand’s handbags. So I ask you: Why not leave the iPad at home, throw your regular stuff inside and carry this iPad case (2) as a clutch? (more…)

Totally important designer Azzedine Alaia does not have a website, but that doesn’t mean that the brand eschews technology, particularly when technology might enable it to sell a few more accessories. Every brand under the sun has hopped on the iPad case trend, and the Azzedine Alaia Laser-Cut iPad Case is among my favorites, but unfortunately, it’s also among the most expensive.

A basic iPad costs $500, but having guessed (correctly) that vanity gadgets appeal to those who might also want to expensively accessorize said gadgets, designer cases have skyrocketed in price. This two-tone beauty is one of the most expensive that I’ve seen in non-exotic leather, and with a price in excess of $700, it appeals only to those most committed to the fusion of fashion and technology. And perhaps those who should actually be committed. (I kid, I kid.) (more…)

As if traveling wasn’t fun enough to begin with, fashion has gone and found a way to make it even better: Nancy Gonzalez luggage.

Launching yesterday exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, Gonzalez now makes a line of suitcases and small travel accessories in her company’s signature crocodile skins. Manufactured to be excellent lightweight luggage in addition to being utterly luxurious, the collection includes items all the way from passport holders to iPad cases to rolling suitcases, priced between $400 and $8000. We have a preview of some of the collection’s pieces, after the jump. (more…)

Every time we talk about Salvatore Ferragamo we also talk about how much we love the brand. And with that we talk about the quality and elegance of their products. We may not cover Ferragamo as much as other designers on PurseBlog, but that does not reflect on lack of beauty, style, or craftsmanship.

Joining the growing list of designers to release iPad cases, Salvatore Ferragamo announces they too will offer a collection of iPad cases ranging in price from $290 to $390. To be honest, as much as I loved the Louis Vuitton iPad Case and Gucci iPad Case, the Ferragamo iPad Cases might be my favorite. (more…)

The introduction of the Apple iPad meant one thing for fashionistas worldwide: designer iPad cases. We already saw the Louis Vuitton iPad cases and now Gucci is offering a few iPad Case options as well.

Gucci plans to release multiple versions of their iPad cases, including options for Valentine’s Day and the Holidays. Right now versions include black rubberized Guccissima leather and GG neoprene. As much as the (more…)
