Shop all new bags at NETAPORTER.COM

You know how I know it is Monday? When I wake up and check Net-A-Porter.com, new bags have arrived to their virtual storefront. And the group of new arrivals this week has me especially excited. A lot of Christian Louboutin bags with a sprinkling of Victoria Beckham and Miu Miu bags, the new arrivals let us know that dressing for fall and winter is in full force now.

Victoria Beckham continues to reel in her fans with simple refined designs. My vote this week goes to her bags and the lovely Lanvin that has landed as well. Which bags do you love?

This gloomy day just got a bit gloomier.

It’s really nasty here in South Florida today. While we don’t have snow or bitter cold, we have torrential rain that just doesn’t seem to want to let up today. I was hoping to come across a great bag to boost my mood, but instead, I came across a Christian Louboutin bag that I don’t really like. Now, you have to understand, that is saying a lot because I usually love all things and everything Louboutin. I want to like this bag. I am actually trying really hard to like this bag, but I just don’t think I can. (more…)

Christian Louboutin Pave Clutch

While personally I am a member of the Christian Louboutin handbag fan club, I know there are several of you out there who thinks the brand should just stick to shoes. Coming across this Christian Louboutin Pave Clutch caused me to think long and hard about whether I like it or not. (more…)

Ladies and gents, take a deep breath before you look at this bag. It is just *that* gorgeous. I need this bag to be mine. I know that we’ve all been debating for quite some time now about “to stud or not to stud”.

However, in this instance, hands down, studding was the way to go. This bag exudes all of the grace, elegance and sexiness that Christian Louboutin has been know for with shoes. And now, with handbags. (more…)

Christian Louboutin Sequined Pouch

Back in the middle of 2007, I found a couple of Christian Louboutin bags that were ultimately unsightly. At the time I asked Christian Louboutin to stick to what he knows, shoes. Luckily he both listened and did not listen to me: updating his handbag collection to make the beautiful pieces we knew he had in him and make his name a contender in the handbag world.

Now we continue to find Christian Louboutin bags that we adore. The designs are no longer lacking innovation. We are continuously turning to Christian Louboutin for everyday bags, evening bags, and occasional pieces. (more…)

Shannon's Christmas Wish List

When it comes to Christmas I typically have a few things I’d love to have, but I rarely consider myself one to have a wish list. However, this year, there are a few things that I would absolutely love to have. So, whether any of these things are given to me or I end up getting them for myself, I am pretty sure I am going to make everything on my list mine! (more…)

Louboutin vs Santi

Christian Louboutin continues to make a name for himself in the handbag world. The Christian Louboutin Loubistuds Clutch wowed us when we first viewed it. The perfect edginess was added to make that clutch a contender and a clutch that truly would amp up your night time outfits. The problem with that clutch was the price. Just over $1500, that is one pricey clutch. (more…)

Sarah Jessica Parker in Louboutin

They’re baaaacccckkk! That is right, Sex and the City 2 began filming today in NYC. The paparazzi were there along with fans hoping to spot the fashionable cast and get a glimpse into the movie. Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, popped into the streets of NYC in Christian Louboutin accessories. She carried the Christian Louboutin Sylvia Large Softy Calf Hobo Bag with Hand Wrapped Leather Handle, $1,795, and wore the Christian Louboutin Gino Yellow and Black Round Toe T-Strap Shoes, $865. Finally. FINALLY. I’ve finally found a Christian Louboutin handbag that I love without reservation and without criticism. I’ve been looking for this bag for a long time, and I’ve seen lots and lots of mediocre (or worse) handbags from Mr. Louboutin during my quest for one that I adore. But the Christian Louboutin Loubistuds Clutch is here now, and it has comforted me and made my long journey worth the time spent.

Something that I’ve loved about Louboutin handbags since they started it is the tiny pair of red-soled heels that form the kisslock on top. Not only does this bag feature that cute little detail, but it also has row after row of shiny, pointy studs to satisfy the rocker trend about which the fashion world is abuzz. It looks like the folks at Louboutin took great care in considering how this bag would be carried, though – the studs come to a point, but appear to be a bit domed off and not at all sharp so they won’t hurt your hand. The double center pleats give the bag a bit of structural variation without taking away from the over-studded effect, and overall, this is a clutch that I would kill to have in my collection. Buy through Luisa Via Roma for $1519.

This is an interesting one. Now, I’m not a big fan of animal prints, save for my tiny soft spot for zebra, nor do I consider myself a fan of furry bags, which inevitably bring up images of those gift bags with pink fur; yikes. But when I saw this Christian Louboutin Leopard-Print Clutch in person yesterday, it was pretty captivating. Maybe it’s the longer-than-usual length of the clutch, or the big bow, or the leopard print (I thought it was leopard fur at first), but it catches your eye.

Christian Louboutin Leopard Print Clutch

As you know, I’m not so sure how I like bows on bags; I don’t like bags to look like gifts. But here, I’m not fixated on the bow because it completes the clutch. Think about it: how naked would this clutch look without the bow, with just the print? Though I can’t see myself wearing it, I can see that it would look amazing with a slinky dress and sky-high heels, and it just seems like something that some celeb will inevitably pick up for a red-carpet walk. If anything, the material itself -leopard print on pony hair- seems pretty ingenious to me. Buy through Saks for $940.

Christian Louboutin Marianna HoboI really wish that I liked Christian Louboutin bags. I really WANT to like them. I like the brand’s shoes quite a bit, probably more so than any other well-known brand. But more often than not, whenever I see one of their bags, my gut reaction is decidedly “meh.” And that’s exactly what I think about the Christian Louboutin Marianna Hobo.

The bag isn’t BAD, per se, unless you count blandness among the cardinal design sins. It’s just boring, and I’d almost rather see an ugly bag with a lot of personality than a middling bag with very little. This bag does have one positive design aspect, however – the handle. Instead of being a single chain that must support the weight of an entire shoulder bag, Louboutin attached multiple chains side-by-side to retain the industrial look without making the bag painful to carry. It’s a great solution to the irritation of a single chain strap digging into your shoulder under the weight of a full bag, but it doesn’t sacrifice fashion in order to gain function. Now if only I could say such nice things about the rest of the purse. Buy through Saks for $1595.

Oh Christian Louboutin how you intrigue me, time and time again. We’ve had countless mini-debates about what we think about CL handbags. For the most part the feedback I get is that CL shoes are totally amazing while CL handbags, although sometimes amazing, are always a bit overpriced. I can’t say I disagree.

Christian Louboutin Pillow Clutch

I came across the Christian Louboutin Pillow Clutch and once again found myself kinda wanting it to be mine. The clutch seems so disco-fab, don’t you think? The clutch is comprised of gold metallic leather, pleating throughout, zip detailing, a gold chain shoulder strap (that I actually might use) and of course, the signature red satin lining. Sure, it will set you back a bit, but it might just be worth it! Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1295.
