Do you hear the crickets? Our Burberry category has been quiet for quite some time simply because many of the designs I’ve seen don’t wow me. Sure, Burberry is known for its nova check pattern, but after you grow tired of checkered bags, there isn’t much to lure you in. And then there’s another problem: some designs that we see from Burberry are just… weird. All of this makes me sad because Burberry is a brand I adore, especially their Prorsum line of apparel (the jackets are KILLER).
With that in mind, it brings me great joy to show you the Burberry East-West Buffalo Tote, which not only offers an elegant style but is also priced very reasonably. The little sliver of my hear that wants so badly for Burberry to succeed at handbags is jumping for joy right now. (more…)
Burberry Mini Check Clutch, $795 via Neiman Marcus.
Combining the iconic check pattern with the fashion-forward belt buckle wrapped body, the Burberry Mini Check Clutch is an attention grabber. I like seeing the classic plaid pattern broken up by the leather and the way Burberry implements this gives their design an edgy appearance.
When I first spotted the Burberry Knotted Hobo, it was love (cue song from Lady and the Tramp when they share spaghetti and meatballs now). While the Burberry Hobo is not ridiculously expensive, I still found a great option for the look for less.
Let me introduce the Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Wow Wow Slingdoodle Leather Crossbody Bag. Ok, let’s please all ignore the name of the bag. It is funny, but rather ridiculous. As if the Bow Wow Wow was not enough Marc Jacobs added the Slingdoodle. Anyhow, back to the matter at hand. (more…)
Looky looky! A gorgeous, workable, elegant, leather hobo from Burberry. Oh, and the price is manageable for a leather bag. Can I tell you how much this excites me? I adore the Burberry ad campaigns and love the way Burberry has been on top of social media. And now to have a bag that I love equally only furthers my growing obsession with the brand.
The Burberry Knotted Leather Hobo is the bag in focus right now with a large comfortable shoulder strap and buttery soft leather with a knotted front design. The inside of course has the classic and iconic check lining, which is always a preppy cool touch. (more…)
This week we will be bringing you a variety of bags that make perfect Valentine’s Day presents. And just in time for this Hallmark Holiday, Burberry has been releasing a line of heart print bags.
The line of bags ranges from totes to small shoulder bags. There is still the quintessential nova check pattern that can be seen on each item. The hearts then take over the foreground of each item, which gives us a splash of love. (more…)
As of late I have been finding more reasons to love Burberry. Their leather bags continue to not only be fashionable and current but also affordable. And now I found a new Burberry bag that I want so badly to like but can’t help but look at it and see jean pockets.
I know many designers put two pockets on the front of their bags. This is nothing new. But there are times when I see a bag with pockets on the front that has me feeling like I am staring at a pair of jeans. And I am not sure the belted top detail helps the Burberry Tumbled Leather Tote look less like half a torso of someones body. Nevertheless, the bag still has many likable features. (more…)
One of my very first designer purchases was a Burberry scarf. I was a freshman in college and remember being frugal for a month so I could use my typical entertainment money for a Burberry scarf without my dad realizing it. Number one, he realized it and number two, the scarf was totally worth it. The classic check pattern from Burberry is as recognizable as the Louis Vuittton signature monogram. Burberry is are widely counterfeited as well, so you be aware of what you are buying and from where. (more…)
As most of you know, Megs, Vlad and I have been traveling for the past couple weeks. Finally, we are all settled in South Florida and trying to get back to our normal schedules. While I was traveling, I couldn’t help but notice the plethora of laptop bags in the airport. I swear, the only travelers who didn’t have a laptop bag were those under the age of 15 (and honestly, even some of them did). So, it got me thinking about how bland most laptop bags are. I mean, really, almost all luggage you see is black and that truly is the same when it comes to laptop bags. I know that more than anything else, we look for functionality, but every now and again a little bit of color can’t do any harm. When I cam across the Burberry Laptop Messenger Bag, I thought, now *this* is something I’d like to carry around. I know the Burberry pattern can be a little much at time, but in the instance, I think it works wonderfully. The bag comes with brasstone hardware on the case along with a canvas shoulder strap and the flap has a double snap closure. And as always, I enjoy the interior slip, zip and cell phone pockets. Share with us what kind of laptop bag you carry around? I truly need a new one! Buy through Nordstrom for $895.00.
My love for the Burberry check pattern ended a few years ago. I went from love love loving it, to just thinking it was ok, to not liking it much at all. There are a few reasons, one being that it gets old fast. Another being that similar to the LV Monogram, the Burberry Nova Check pattern is counterfeited very often. Be wary of Burberry bag deals, many will be fakes. Recently I fell head of heels in love with the Burberry Belted Leather Tote and that got my thought pattern back on checking our Burberry Bags.
And as much as the check pattern is so over for me, I also am still drawn to it when Burberry can reinvent it some. That is precisely why I love the Burberry Shimmer Tote which is overhauled with the classic plaid pattern in shades of gray cotton with a touch of Lurex shimmer. The bag is quite simple, just cotton trimmed with leather. But it is such a great fall bag. Actually, it has me thinking of fall outfits so much that I am intensely missing having four seasons rather than sunshine year round. The other perk is the double top handles or detachable shoulder strap, which you all know I love the option of the two. There is a zip top and one large inside pocket and a cell phone and PDA pocket. When the bag is flat, dimensions are 15¼”W X 16¼”H X ½”. Buy through Saks for $895.
I have never had a strong affinity to brown. Which baffles my mind since brown looks less harsh against my blond hair, blue eyes, medium color skin. It is not that I am a huge lover of black, but I really just float around in the color world. But I need a new brown bag. One of my last brown bags was my Fendi Spy (yes 2.5 years ago), in honey, which is a perfect shade. And now I have found my new brown bag obsession, and am quite surprised that it is a Burberry Bag.
Burberry is synonmous with its check pattern, which many tire of quickly. I like it here and there, loved my Burberry scarf, but I can only handle it in doses. When Burberry creates a stunning leather bag and leaves the check pattern to the interior lining, they can end up with a fabulous handbag. And this is precisely what has happened with the Burberry Belted Leather Tote. The pebbled calfskin looks soft in pictures, which typically means that it is indeed sumptuous. What I love about this bag is the casual look, the belted accent which gives such a nonchalant finish. No need for crazy amounts of hardware, like in the Burberry Warrior, just simple with a nice touch. This look has me feeling fall already, it will be perfect with hues of green, purple, and brown. The golden hardware is a much better option than silver, giving a refined feeling, which I always feel in fall. Don’t you see that? The long coats and boots dress people up in the fall, making an effortlessly chic ensemble. There is also a detachable shoulder strap, double top handles, and many pockets on the inside. I simply can not argue with this handbag. Buy through Saks for $1195.
