It’s not often that I have the urge to refer to any bag as “jaunty,” let alone a men’s briefcase, but it’d be hard to argue that the Ted Baker Harlemm Mixed Leather Briefcase is …

I’ve got a Monday morning confession for you guys: I listen to too much Drake. Arguably, any Drake is “too much Drake,” but I probably listen to too much, even by lenient standards. We all …

Canvas is a tricky textile. It’s perfect for summer because it’s lightweight and breathable, which can matter even in accessories when it’s so hot out that the idea of having anything heavy or warm touching …

By this site’s very nature, we spend a decent amount of time talking about things that are very expensive. Expensive handbags, expensive accessories, expensive shoes over at TalkShoes. Back in the real world, though, we …

Selecting a briefcase for a working man, particularly a young, reasonably stylish working man, can present some issues. Traditional, super-structured options are stylish in their Don Draper, retro-cool way, but they’re not an everyday solution …

As we often note, men’s bags tend to be more subdued, more neutral and more cleanly designed than women’s bags; the men’s market just isn’t into as much look as female luxury consumers are. That’s …

When we pick men’s bags to write about, we usually try to find things that will appeal to a wide audience. Men in general are newer to this whole bag thing than women are, and …

I’ve always been attracted to the idea of a briefcase. Perhaps its because they’re the most prototypical of the masculine bags, or perhaps they’re intriguing to me because they’re the type of accessory I’m least …

Swaine Adeney Brigg Westminster II Bridle Leather Briefcase, $1230 via Mr. Porter

I spent two weeks in Atlanta with my parents over the holidays, and although there are a million great things about visiting them, one of the greatest is their incredible cable package. I have a setup here that lets me watch the shows I recap over the Internet, but other than that, I, like many New Yorkers, have cut cable from my budget in order to accommodate this town’s astronomical housing and booze prices.

Naturally, while I was home, I spent as much time as possible soaking up the mindless entertainment that television provides, most notably a seemingly endless marathon of How It’s Made reruns. One episode featured the making of a Swaine Adeney Brigg attache case, which was so interesting that I couldn’t help but feature the Swaine Adeney Brigg Westminster II Bridle Leather Briefcase as the subject of today’s Man Bag Monday. When they call these bags “handmade,” they mean it. (more…)

Some of the most comfortable shoes both Vlad and I have ever owned and worn are Cole Haan. I may not turn to Cole Haan for the most trendy and stylish pieces for me, but for the men’s spectrum the brand delivers. Many of our Man Bag Monday posts have featured bags that cost well over a thousand dollars, but today’s post is with price in mind while not forgetting about style.

Cole Haan is not a brand I follow closely for women’s bags, but the Cole Haan Merced Briefcase shows that for the men there are beautiful bags being made at a reasonable price. (more…)

Alfred Dunhill Side Car Briefcase, $1370 via Mr. Porter.

Sometime, man bags don’t look a whole lot different than those made for us ladies – the colors are more neutral and the details are a tad more masculine, but with a line like Balenciaga or Gucci, most of the bags made for men could be most accurately described as unisex. As an alternative, I’ve chosen the delightfully masculine Alfred Dunhill Side Car Briefcase for this week’s Man Bag Monday. This design is a gentleman’s work bag, through and through. (more…)

I’m not the kind of person who’s prone to inappropriate effusiveness or quick superlatives, but I’m not sure what other way to approach the Bottega Veneta Uniform Cocco Lave Briefcase. Superlatives were made for this bag. (more…)
