Things have been a bit quiet on the Alexander McQueen handbag front this past year. Other than the Heroine, McQueen hasn’t had a bag that we’ve covered much in the past year and a half, …
Whenever I see an intense cobalt blue bag, I am in love. If someone asked my favorite color, I would explain to them that a very vibrant and bold electric blue always gets me. That is why tracking down the perfect Celine Mini Luggage Tote was one of my biggest accomplishments in the handbag world to date.
When I opened up Net-A-Porter.com today, I got that same feeling of joy upon seeing another pretty blue bag. But this is not a Celine bag, it is an Alexander McQueen bag. To further my love, the Alexander McQueen Cites Chanter Hobo Bag is designed with supple matte python skin which is my favorite way to see the skin used. DROOL. (more…)
After Rachel Zoe confirmed her pregnancy, the fashion world began to buzz about her stylish baby on board. While many speculated if she would have a boy or girl and what her baby would be spotted wearing, I was busy wondering what diaper bag Rachel Zoe planned to carry.
Luckily, Rachel Zoe shared with us that she is going bananas for her Alexander McQueen diaper bag. (more…)
Sarah Burton had large shoes to fill when she stepped in at Alexander McQueen. But her transition has not only been seamless but has also continued to bring us gorgeous pieces. Right now I am absolutely obsessed with the Alexander McQueen 3D Hobo. While Neiman Marcus describes this bag as flower-detail, I would like to clarify: this my friends is black leather cutwork leaves. In a time when we have come to expect florals from the likes of Valentino, I feel refreshed with this look from McQueen.
Truth be told, leather flowers are gorgeous but with these floral leaves we have an earthy spirit brought to the design. The Alexander McQueen 3D Hobo is an ethereal beauty, and I can not stop any part of me from wanting it. (more…)
When it comes to Alexander McQueen accessories, the box clutch with skull clasp closure is iconic. With countless renditions ranging from plain leather to overall studded, there is an option for everyone out there. I always enjoyed the studded versions, but I also never saw myself carrying one. I like a little bit of spunk and rock, but I have my limits.
Even though ample studs take over the front of the Alexander McQueen Brittania Punk Leather Box Clutch, the perfectly toned down green leather offsets the studs in a manner that leaves the final product much less harsh. (more…)
You know what? This clutch may work very well for those of you that have a slight affinity for skulls but do not want too much. Alexander McQueen was known for infusing skull accents into his designs. Sometimes in masses, sometimes as a clasp closures, and now embossed.
The Alexander McQueen Demanta Leather Skull Clutch features skull-embossed black leather.
After Alexander McQueen’s death, one of the ways many people reacted was shock followed by wanting to buy a piece from one of his last collections. The Skull Clutch is an iconic McQueen bag and all of the websites that previously had them in stock sold out within hours.
Saks just stocked a few new McQueen bags, one being the Alexander McQueen Stringray Print Skull Clutch. The clutch is on pre-order right now, with a shipment date of the end of July. In fact this clutch popped up a couple weeks ago with a much earlier shipment date, but was sold out quickly and the shipment date changed. The black/silver stingray print adorns the outside of the classic clutch with a skull clasp closure and purple lining. Pre-order through Saks for $1,175.
We are self-proclaimed Alexander McQueen fans here at PurseBlog. And this bag is no different.
The Alexander McQueen Leather Biker Satchel infuses a design that I wasn’t completely in love with to make a bag that is speaking to me. With all of the pockets and zippers from the Alexander McQueen Leather Biker Tote and the laid-back satchel style, I am loving this bag from Alexander McQueen. Confession: Amanda wrote about a grey version of this bag before and thought it was a misstep from McQueen. I too felt like that bag was lacking something. Actually, in grey it is completely blah for me. (more…)
The moment after I post about this handbag I am going to feel a sense of regret take over my body. In fact, I feel it now. After I post this sale I am certain a few of you will buy it and then it will be sold out, all before I could plead my case of needing this clutch myself. The Alexander McQueen Faithful Glove Clutch is an attention grabber, a total out of the box idea. While I understand that it seems like a fairly simple idea to place a glove on a clutch and call it a day, it is the way in which McQueen can pull this off that amazes me. (more…)
Remember the time when Amanda professed her love for the red Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch? If you did not, click back to refresh your memory. Everything about that clutch spoke to Amanda, from the designer to the design.
Amanda was all about the red paired with the skull clasp from a designer that she adores. Now I feel like one-upping her, because really, could the Alexander McQueen Skull Diamante Clutch be anymore amazing? (more…)
We are totally crushing hard on Alexander McQueen. The new line of bags has our attention and has us desperately seeking an extra allowance to splurge on a range of his designs. The most talked about bags from McQueen this fall is his “Faithful” line. We have already seen the Alexander McQueen Faithful Glove Clutch, the Faithful Bucket Tote, and the Faithful Leather Tote. Each of these handbags continues to be reinvented with new colors and patterns that has using the eni meni mini mo technique to choose our favorite. (more…)
Over the weekend, my mom, sister and I were working on songs that we want the DJ to play at our wedding. I actually love 80’s and early 90’s music. I specifically remember telling my mom when I was little that I would always listen to the ‘current’ music, never to the oldies, and be the coolest grown-up. I have already failed at that I guess. But there is something about the neon colors of the 80’s that is entirely electrifying.
I have no use for the Alexander McQueen Neon Panel Clutch and it would be worn for dress up occasions, but a small part of me looks at it and says Rock On! This clutch sports every aspect of the 80’s that we typically think of in our minds; neon, geometric shapes, patent leather, and totally out there. For the next 80’s themed party, if you have a budget that is sky high, I would totally suggest this clutch. Otherwise, it is more of a fun piece to look at but I am not about to buy it. Order through Net A Porter for $1,070.
