After seeing Selena Gomez in her Frye Ava Button Booties over on The Purse Forum, I’ve been on a Frye frenzy. So I was somewhat mystified when I came to this Frye Heidi Clutch. There are some aspects of this bag I like, and some I don’t, but the main issue here is that there are just too many aspects. Simply put, there’s too much going on. The clutch has about as much complexity as some sort of algorithm.

Frye Heidi Clutch

In my view, clutches don’t have to be simple, but to make them complicated is really the death of them. That said, I really like the dimensions of this clutch- at least it’s oversized, so it makes an effort to make all the components fit in, I guess. The turnlock closure adds something different to a clutch, and I do really like the ruched midsection (just not together with the turnlock). What I’m the most fond of, though, is the studded tab accents on either side of the clutch- though I think they might be more suited to a boot than a clutch. Buy through Zappos for $181.44 on sale.

If this didn’t have the tab decorations, I’d be all about it. I love this color of brown, the ruched front and the turnlock closure. It’s also a great oversized clutch size. Frye is wonderful, but I do agree their styles are sometimes overdone just by one or two accents.

Oh I looooooove a complicated clutch. But I like weird little bags in general. This one is kinda cute, and the price isn’t bad.
