Anyone who’s ever been on a budget (which is pretty much all of us) knows how hard it is to find a fashionable bag at a relevant price. Lately, though, that pursuit has been a bit easier. Not long ago, we rounded up a group of sub-$300 bags that are worth your attention, and the Coach bags we featured earlier this week are all pretty wallet-friendly. If you’re still looking, though, look no further than the MICHAEL Michael Kors Selma Bag. It’s simple, versatile and totally chic.

If you don’t like the green we’ve chosen above (keep in mind that it’s the Pantone 2013 Color of the Year), fret not. This sleek bag comes in every color from basic black to sunshine-bright yellow, and they all ring up at exactly $358. That’d be a fair price for almost any bag, but for this one in particular, it’s a steal. The bag’s subtly textured saffiano leather can take a beating and still look great, and the shape is classic enough that you could carry this design anywhere from the office to the park. There’s no extraneous nonsense going on with this bag – its lines are clean, and except for a small logo, there’s nothing to distract from the gorgeous color. The added bonus of that, of course, is that there’s nothing about this bag that’ll make it look dated in a season or two. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $358.

      Well at least it’s budget-friendly!

I love mine! Celine is way out of budget. And this has a crossbody strap so it is very practical!

Identical to a Coach Candace. Jeez.

    • grace

Agreed, but for some reason I find this one much more appealing / sleek… not sure why though

I liked that this one was Saffiano. I also liked the proportions a bit more. Very similar bags, I considered them both. This one basically screamed buy me, buy me. But the Candace was nice but not a must have. I do love these new “mid market” inspired by bags though. Very sleek, and Coach and MK do a great job with adding pockets and function with the form.

also, loving the green color, would be so cute with a black trench coat

    • To be fair, the Coach Candace didn’t exactly invent the whole flared gusset thing.

I really like this bag. Although a little uncertain how well the shoulder strap will really hold up with repeated use. I have another higher-end bag that had a shoulder strap attached in a similar manner and it broke on me. All my saffiano hamiltons look as great as the day I got them and their shoulder strap is much more hearty.

  • I wish it were two toned!

    I am so getting this..!!

  • Halim

I have never liked MK bags and the glossy MK embossed offerings but this one stopped me in my tracks, enough to call the local Singapore MK store whether they have it. It is so yummy.

does the singapore store stock it?

  • Treanne

I just bought it in hot pink… Love it!

Where can I buy this bag in yellow? Cant seem to find a stockist in this colour anywhere.
