Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Summer 2021 Collection Reimagines Classic Monogram

Virgil Abloh introduces a stunning line of colorful, fluid Monogram bags and more

Menswear creative director Virgil Abloh is now well into his reign at Louis Vuitton, and each new collection is more anticipated than the next. Now, on the heels of the brand’s Women’s summer capsule, we’re getting a look at the latest from Virgil Abloh and it’s good, it’s really good.

Inspired by West Coast artists and skaters the latest seasonal capsule by Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton reimagines the brand’s iconic Monogram in a whimsical new way. Bright, watercolor hues are meant to emulate the ever-changing colors of a summer sky. Soft multicolor pastel prints are the standout pieces of the collection, dubbed the Artist’s Palette, this print adorns RTW and classic bags like the Keepall and Pochette.

A second colorway, called Shades of Indigo revisits Watercolor Monogram in varying shades of blues and indigo. The pattern is interpreted as if drops of water had fallen on ink, appearing once again on a range of RTW, bags, accessories and shoes. The stand out piece is the shrunken down version of the classic Louis Vuitton Keepall, the cute and compact Keepall XS.

Both motifs add a graphic rainbow spin to classic Monogram, enlivening the brand’s bags both new, and old, all the while conveying a joyful, lively summer season. And those these bags fall under LV Men’s they’re likely to be coveted by all and to sell, and sell fast. Some pieces already appear to be unavailable so if you see something you like, it’s best to snatch it up quickly!
