I have a hard time finding really good look-for-less handbag matches lately. I guess that goes for all of fashion, really; so many times, it seems like the “look for less” is really just an awful copy of something that was done much better by someone else. But in this case, I’ve found two beautiful clutches that carry a distinctly similar aesthetic while still being great pieces on their own. Today’s high-low pairing features Bottega Veneta and BCBGMAXAZRIA in a battle of gold and black box clutches.

BCBGMAXAZRIA Liza Evening Bag | $178 via Bloomingdale’s
I’ve been slowing turning into more and more of a BCBGMAXAZRIA-loving girl. The brand’s runway collection is far different than what you picture in your head when you think of BCBG, and the accessories in particular have come a long way. This gold box clutch has a touch of wild side to it with the leather border and calf-hair center section. The price is really great and this clutch will work all the way through to New Year’s Eve and beyond.

Bottega Veneta Hand-painted Waxed Leather Knot Clutch | $1,300 via Net-A-Porter
You all know I have a soft spot for Bottega Veneta in my fashion-loving heart. Their fall/winter collection has tons of pops of gold and this clutch was one of the first accessories that caught my eye. The knot clutch is Bottega’s most iconic when it comes to structured box clutches and the gold leather against the black waxed leather makes for a chic combination.
