My 2018 Christmas List

Hoping to find these goodies under the tree this year…

Like many people, the holidays are my favorite time of year. There is truly nothing more magical than the buzz of the holidays and I love that the excitement is almost tangible this time of year. My husband and I get really into Christmas and have both of our trees trimmed, waiting and ready for perfectly wrapped gifts to appear underneath them. Yes, you read that right—we are so Christmas obsessed that we decided to have two trees this year. We just bought our first home in October and this will be our first holiday season in our new house, so we are embracing Christmas full force this year! Christmas lists were the norm in my family—I always sent one to my parents growing up. I’ve continued to do this into adulthood and I’ve sent one to my husband every year since we got married. I am pretty particular about my style and I like to avoid surprises when I can. I am not the subtlest when it comes to dropping hints, but my husband appreciates the lists so he knows what to get me (at least he says he does).  Here is my list for 2018:

Gucci Marmont Camera Bag

I have been lusting for a matelassé leather Gucci bag from the Marmont line for years and it’s not something I have been able to shake no matter how hard I’ve tried. While I love all the bags in the Marmont collection, I particularly love everything about the Marmont 2.0 shoulder bag. The camera bag style of the interior is ideal because even though it is naturally on the smaller side, the roomy interior can fit more than you think, which is important since I carry a lot of stuff in my bags. As a logo lover, I really like the prominent GG interlocking logo on the front and of course the quilted leather gets a resounding YES from me. A Gucci bag has been on my Christmas wishlist for the last two years now, so I think this would make the ultimate Christmas gift this year.

Burberry Small Leather and House Check Tote Bag

Truthfully it has been a minute since I really looked twice at a Burberry bag. The last time I coveted a Burberry bag was a decade ago when the Warrior bag was released  in 2008 and was seen on the arm of Serena van der Woodsen in an episode of Gossip Girl. Since then, Burberry has been a brand I have kept my eye on, but I haven’t purchased any bags from the brand, although I have purchased about 5 different Burberry perfumes! I own a lot of bright and colorful bags and recently I have been wanting to invest in a more classic piece. Naturally I went straight to the Burberry site for a quick look and I was pleasantly surprised when I fell in love with the Small Grainy Leather and House Check tote. A classic shape, multi-functional with both a shoulder strap and a top handle, and the fun detail of house-check paneling on the sides. I love it! A classic bag that will never go out of style, I literally had a vision of passing it down to a future daughter one day. Even if I don’t find this beauty under the tree, I may need to invest in this classic piece soon!

Louis Vuitton Clemence Walet

Oh boy, I adore this little wallet. I currently don’t use a wallet and have been stashing my cards in a teeny Prada leather keyholder. It works well enough but I can’t fit any cash or coins in it, so I have to carry an additional pouch in my bag to stash those items. It’s not very efficient, which means I am definitely in the market for a new wallet where I can store everything in one place. I am a huge fan of Louis Vuitton monogram. The coated canvas can take a beating, which is important in a wallet. I am pretty gentle with my bags, but a wallet gets rattled around with my keys and other items in my bag, so durability is essential. In addition to the classic monogram design, I love the pink details on the interior and zipper pull. I would be delighted to find this under the tree!

Jo Malone Cologne Intense Collection

Nordstrom’s website describes this set as “a luminous lineup of five deeply sensual cologne intense fragrances by Jo Malone.” As a massive Jo Malone fan, I love the idea of getting five scents in one purchase! Admittedly I am a perfume addict, I never leave the house without putting it on. I am constantly buying big bottles of perfume and never using them up, with over 25 perfume bottles in rotation on my vanity at the moment. Because I have so many bottles, the sampler style of this set would definitely work well for me, each bottle is 0.3 oz so I know I would use them up! I have only bought some of the traditional colognes from Jo Malone (Wood Sage and Sea Salt is my absolute favorite) and I’ve been eager to try something from the Cologne Intense line. The scents included in this set are Tuberose Angelica, Jasmine Sambac & Marigold, Velvet Rose & Oud, Myrrh & Tonka, and Oud & Bergamot. Please Santa, deliver this to my house.

Louis Vuitton NéoNoé

I’ve been wanting to receive a bag that is different from what’s already in my collection and the NéoNoé sits at the top of the “out of my comfort zone” list. I have never thought a bucket bag would suit my lifestyle or fit my personal style, but I saw a NéoNoé in the wild at a museum last week and did a double take. The woman wearing the bag looked so chic, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t given this bag more attention before. I love that this style is inspired by the original 1932 bag that was designed to transport bottles of champagne. I am really into history and not many bags on the market in 2018 carry that kind of historical significance, which makes this bag extra special. The NéoNoé would be perfect for my first bucket bag, don’t you think?

Saint Laurent Toy Loulou Crossbody

The Loulou is small but mighty, packing a ton of style into a teeny tiny bag. I’ve resisted the mini bag trend up until this point but the matelassé stitching just makes my heart skip a few beats and I can’t ignore it. I adore the dual compartments in the interior and the fold over flap on the front. The angle of the fold over flap adds a unique design that makes this bag stand out. The bold YSL logo on the front is definitely eye catching without being over the top flashy, which is a hard balance to strike. The Loulou could easily be dressed up or down, with feminine touches in every detail. I would be happy to receive any of the colors this bag comes in but am particularly fond of the dark turquoise, mink, and of course the tender pink.

Hermès Merveilleuses Lanternes Scarf 90

Is there anything better than the dream of peeling back the wrapping paper of a gift, only to reveal an orange Hermès box? I honestly can’t think of any other packaging that is as iconic as the Hermès box, and I would be over the moon to see an orange box on Christmas morning. Aside from the Birkin, Hermès is also known for producing beautiful scarves and for good reason. Their scarves are beautifully made, hand-rolled, 100% silk and full of interesting designs and intricate details (seriously, take a look at their selection—some of them look like pieces of art!). While I had a hard time picking just one to include on this list, I picked this Lantern one because I love the orange border and the delicate beauty of all of the lanterns featured on the scarf.

Tory Burch Fleming Shoulder Bag

The Tory Burch Fleming bag has so many intricate details, it is hard to believe the price point. It looks pretty similar to the premier designer bags on this list but at a contemporary price.  I really like that the strap on this is a pull through chain style, so it can be worn longer or doubled for a shorter strap giving it an appealing multi-functional feature. The interior of the bag looks spacious, so I know I wouldn’t have to make any sacrifices when fitting my belongings inside. Tory Burch bags always have a glamourous feel, and this bag is definitely no exception. I love the shell pink color the most, and I would be delighted to have a pretty in pink moment this Christmas.

Chloé Medium Milo Tote

Old habits die hard, and this tote proves that. I always gravitate towards big bags, particularly totes (I own around 10-15 totes). I told myself I would stay away from totes and try to expand my bag collection by getting a new shape or size bag, but this beautiful Chloé is truly irresistible. The suede gussets, fringe tassels, and x-large size just makes it an automatic “need” for me. It really has such an effortlessly cool vibe which is a style I am always going for. I know I wanted to break away from my old habits but this one may keep me coming back to large totes. Santa, I’ve been good this year!

Mulberry Amberley Satchel

The Amberley is so different from anything else in my closet, which is why I love it! In my attempt to branch out and wear new styles, this bag fits the bill. It’s offered in an array of classic colors, and is a classic shape, making it feel like a true investment piece. I love how you can wear it as a crossbody or on the shoulder—I’ll get double the wear out of it! Mulberry does classic colors so well, it would only be fitting to get something so traditional from the British brand.
