10 Things Amanda Would Love to See Under the Tree This Christmas

Including some boots she'd definitely injure herself trying to put on

The past few months have been a whirlwind for me in like five different ways, so much so that yesterday, I had Delta switch my flight home to see my parents from this morning to Thursday—Christmas has come at me way too quickly, and I am not ready. I need more time! What I’m always ready to do, though, is pick out some stuff that I’d like to see under the tree next week, in a perfect world. (In the real world, my Christmas present is a trip to the Rose Bowl. Which is also pretty perfect, but not something I can write about on a fashion website.)

So below, I’ve listened ten things I’d love to receive this year, from the reasonable to the fantastical. What are you hoping to get this Christmas?

Agnona Gauzed Mohair and Cashmere Sweater
$1,290 via Moda Operandi

There’s a particular type of sweater that I sometimes see extremely chic women wearing in New York City that I’m just totally obsessed with: they’re a little off-kilter, a little more structured than the soft, slouching sweaters of year’s past. They look like a garment. This is one of those sweaters. (A common thread of these sweaters seems to be that they’re all very expensive.)

Balenciaga Mirrored Thigh-High Boots
$2,190 via Net-a-Porter

Under no circumstances could I wear these boots, or perhaps even get them on my body, but I think they’re insanely cool and I’ve loved silver shoes since I was old enough to have taste in things. These are silver shoes taken to their logical extreme, and hey, we’re just wishing here, right?

Céline Soft Cube Bag
$1,700 via Céline

I’ve been into this particular Céline bag since it launched last season, and it still seems like exactly the kind of thing I’d carry a ton: simple, roomy and not too bulky, with a crossbody strap.

Chanel Round Winter Sunglasses
$465 via Chanel

I’ve so far avoided the round sunglasses trend, but these have just the right note of glamor to them that makes me want to give them a shot.

Diane von Furstenberg Faux Fur Coat
$598 via Neiman Marcus

Ridiculous faux furs make me feel a lot better about my hatred of winter, and this would be a gorgeous addition to my colorful collection.

Gucci Ophidia Bag
$1,980 via Gucci

Petite (but not too petite) crossbody bags have been my sweet spot for years, and Gucci’s new Ophidia line fits that perfectly. I’ve long been a fan of the brand’s Kingsnake motif, which means this bag is a spot-on fusion of form and function for me.

Louis Vuitton Neonoe Bag
$1,450 via Louis Vuitton

I’ve had my mind on adding some Louis Vuitton logo to my collection for over a year now, and this bag is the latest leader for the spot.

Nike Velvet Air Force 1 Sneakers
$105 via Net-a-Porter

If these were high tops, I’d already have bought them. I love velvet, and my two pairs of AF1s are the cushiest, comfiest shoes I own.

Peter Thomas Roth Mask-a-Holic Set
$75 via Sephora

I love any excuse or opportunity to try a bunch of different skincare products, so holiday gift sets are my favorite. I’ve loved all the Peter Thomas Roth products I’ve tried, so I feel like I’d have a field day with this lineup.

Prada Bauletto Rabbit Print Bag
$2,280 via Net-a-Porter

This one is mostly fantasy for me; I don’t know how much I’d carry this bag, but I’ve loved Prada’s leather illustrations since the fairy bags years ago, and I always regretted not getting one of those. These rabbit prints are the next best thing.
