Who is it, exactly, who buys a clutch so small and rigid that it can’t fit a slender smartphone? In a day and age when even veteran socialites are glued to their iPhones (and playing Angry Birds just like the rest of us, I assure you), don’t teeny-tiny handbags become something of a significant logistical issue? Givenchy Fall 2011 didn’t feature many handbags, but the ones that did appear were all so picayune that I couldn’t help but pick up my phone to try and gauge the difference in size between it and what I saw on my screen. I’m not at all convinced that it would fit inside of one of Givenchy’s small evenings bags, and even if it did, it would be the only thing in there. So much for house keys.

I’ve brought up this problem before and never received any sort of satisfactory answer about what you’re supposed to do with one of these tiny clutches. Give your phone to your man? What if you’re going out with your girlfriends, do you give it to one of them? What if you get separated or she leaves early? Why spend so much money on a bag that’s absolutely devoid of practicality? These designs are pretty to look at, but without one very significant alteration, I won’t be buying them.

Cute, but what the heck can you fit in that clutch?

Yeah, looks like a cell phone case.

    Nice, small elegant bags!

Agreed on both the cuteness and the size…..maybe your could fit your credit card and a lip gloss??? ;)

Those are super cute. I agree with everyone, these are more like cases. Actually, I’d put them INSIDE my real handbag. I could just see myself forgetting something this small on the train or on a store counter somewhere.

I might consider inside a bag, but if a cell phone won’t fit in them, what’s the point?

Maybe they forgotten that gone are those days when people keep coins in their purse to make calls at public phones.

Love the pop of colour. When i go out with my hubby sometimes i don’t even carry a purse. Would be nice to have one of these bright clutches to put my lipgloss in.

They look like cigarette cases. The yellow one is really cute, but I can think of no purpose for one of these.

i can fit in a thong maybe. a really lacy, thin thong and some gum. hahahahaha. my tampon would even have a hard time fitting there! hahaha. good luck. coins and money can fit maybe. but maybe you can super glue ur blackberry/iphone outside so it’s part of the design. hahaha

    Very cute, but, yes, impractical.
I have a Blackberry, and I don’t even think that would fit in it much less an iPhone which is larger.
You could get your house key but not the entire key ring so I guess driving would be out of the equation.
Lip gloss, maybe. Depends on if it’s in a pot or tube.
It’s just a very expensive debit card/business card case.
