The Many (Dior) Bags at the Dior Men’s Fall 2020 Show

The best of Dior was spotted on every arm that night

It’s no surprise that majority of every attendee to the Dior Men’s Fall 2020 show carried and wore Dior, but rather than it becoming repetitive, it was a show in and of itself, showcasing some of the best the house has to offer. The anticipation for the event was at a high and everyone who had a ticket gathered on a cool Miami night in an area right beside Wynwood. A warehouse was transformed with the Shawn Stussy Dior logo from top to bottom and vintage cars with Dior models were perfectly staged out front. Guests waited for the doors to open while sipping drinks and chatting, eager to see what Kim Jones created along with his much hyped collaborations.

We spent a few hours at the venue before the actual show took place, both backstage and in the area outside where everyone gathered. Of course there was a lot of Dior, but what delighted me most was the vast array of bags people chose to carry. It wasn’t just new pieces, there were a lot of vintage pieces pulled out and carried as well, and the new pieces that were spotted were unique and conversational ones. Think Dior x Rimowa (which is available in the Miami Design District store now and will hit the ecomm site in January) along with exotics, really cool men’s bags (which I am now completely obsessed with), and countless versions of Lady Dior bags as well.

Of course quintessential Miami flare took over, with a casual, but sexy vibe and a bit more color than you’d see at a typical fashion show in New York. As for celebrities, well, they were all there. Vlad ran into David Beckham, Ricky Martin made an appearance, there were editors from every major magazine, a few Kardashians, A Trak, Kate Moss, Winnie Harlow, Lily Allen, Travis Scott, major influencers from every continent, and many more. Orville Peck (pictured below) wore the coolest Dior outfit custom made by Kim Jones and performed after the show, which was followed by a surprise firework display.

There are days that my work feels just like work, a routine sets in and I research bags to share and answer emails and take phone calls. But when people think of someone who works in fashion, they picture fashion shows and the Dior Men’s Show that took place in Miami last week was one of those moments that makes a job like mine look glamourous. And I won’t deny it, it was. Take a look at the photos Vlad shot below backstage and before the Dior Men’s Fall 2020 show!
