Chloé’s designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi has slowly, but surely settled into her role at the famed French design House. While previous collections infused Ramsay-Levi’s own aesthetic with the Chloé favorites designed by her predecessor Clare Waight Keller, for spring 2020, the designer introduced a collection of bags which were all her own. Among the new shapes and silhouettes was the Daria bag, a new shape which resembles a bowling bag and was shown unzipped, bearing a braided top handle and a crossbody strap. Now, for fall 2020, Chloé has introduced its statement-making runway bag in a brand new size. Introducing: the Chloé Mini Daria.
The Daria is a structured, yet supple bag perfect for the everyday. Its style is meant to embody the House’s most recent collections, echoing both masculine and feminine contrasts. The braided handle is handcrafted, and is the silhouette’s most recognizable design feature, adding to the bag’s functionality as well as allowing for multiple ways of carry. Inside, the bag is lined in a textured-cotton jacquard, bearing a Chloé monogram motif, which is Art Deco-inspired.
The Mini format is meant to complement the line’s existing sizes, with fresh proportions that are paired down and an extra-long chain strap allowing for cross-body wear. The updated shape takes the original designs day to evening allure and transforms it into an of the moment mini, combining classic elements with modern appeal. While the size is perfect for those who carry a minimal amount of belongings, the bag also works as a going out statement-making bag for any purse lover.
The mini’s overall dimensions are 5.1″L x 6.7″W x 2.8″D. The bag features two compartments of the same size, accessible via the front or back of the bag. Each compartment is secured with zippered closures that extend down the sides of the bag, thus allowing for maximum organization and ease of use.
Crafted in stamped croc, the bag is also available in calfskin as well, both in neutrals and soft colors like pink, grey and blue. The printed mini Daria shown here is part of the brand’s collaboration with contemporary artist Rita Ackermann. The silhouette is seen covered with the artist’s female characters, and is said to “reflect the artistic spirit of the season”, a press release for the new bag states.
