All the Bags From Chloé’s First Ever Resort Runway Show

For Resort 2020, designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi plays with new and old favorites

Last week, Chloé, along with designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi, presented its first ever Resort runway show in Shanghai on the rooftop of the Long Museum at sunset. The stage was set for the gorgeous collection that Ramsay-Levi presented, and while we’re all here for the obvious—the bags—it’s impossible to ignore the canvas on which they were showcased. Rarely does the RTW in a collection capture my attention so much so that I feel obligated to mention it in a bag focused review, but then again I’ve always considered myself a #ChloéGirl.

As for the bags, well they won be over as well. There were many notable mentions, but my favorites were the updates to the wildly-popular Faye bag. Thick, luxurious grain leather appeared in a bright pink version of the Chloé Faye with an adorable mini top handle. There was also an updated cross body version, which was shown in black with a chain strap. You know how the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, but Ramsay-Levi has also done a great job of putting her own spin on the Chloé girl.

The Paddington lock made an appearance in a big way for Fall 2019, and it also appeared front and center in this collection on bags old and new. Models clutched a new shoulder bag bearing the iconic lock that is almost a cross between a bucket bag and a hobo. Noticeably absent was the Tess Bag and the Drew Bag, and this is the first collection in years that has moved away from that popular shape. View all of the bags below.
