I wish more model calls got the same publicity as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show go-sees. I always enjoy the casual parade of new runway walkers and models vying to make their debut. (Some of VS’s bigger players won’t show their faces until it’s time for fittings.) This is a who’s who of up-and-coming models, as well as some decidedly established faces, who I’ll wager are already having a busy week at NYFW. Victoria’s Secret shows always bring together a broad mix of model faces from different corners of the industry. Some of these women are in heavy rotation in print campaigns for ready-to-wear, lingerie, or even beauty lines, but only occasionally make appearances on designer runways. But the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is an entirely different breed of fashion show. Let’s see who the contenders are this year.
Alecia Morais
Alecia Morais hails from Cape Verde and walked in the VS Fashion Show last year for the very first time. She’s carrying a black Givenchy Antigona.
Alyssa Riley
Alyssa Riley brought this tawny red Chanel Boy Bag. She’s hoping for her first stint on the VS runway.
Daniela Braga
Daniela Braga carried this red Alexander McQueen Mini Heroine Bag. Daniela has taken a turn or two on the VS runway, and is currently starring in E!’s Model Squad.
Gizele Oliveira
Brazilian model Gizele Oliveira carried a teensy black Dior Lady Dior Bag. She walked in the VS Fashion Show in Shanghai last year.
Josie Canseco
Josie Canseco looks optimistic as she heads in with the smallest bag yet—a Fendi Pouch. Does carrying a mini or micro to a job interview make you look more confident? I can’t decide.
Ophelie Guillermand
French model Ophelie Guillermand brought a beautiful black and orange bouclé Chanel Classic Flap Bag, naturally. Those pants also make quite a statement.
Sara Witt
Slovakian model Sara Witt brought a gorgeous black Dior Saddle Bag, accessorized with the Dior Bag Strap. She is certainly the first VS hopeful I’ve seen sporting an elastic waistband.
Winnie Harlow
Finally, here’s Winnie Harlow, submitting her bid for Angel status. She’s carrying a quilted Dior Dioraddict Bag.
