When it comes to handbag trends, and logos, in particular, it often feels like there are two camps. Those who love a logo and an in-your-face handbag and those who, well, don’t. There is a gray area though, and with that gray area comes the belief that there are handbags for certain purposes. While there’s a time and a place for a flashy handbag that screams designer, there’s also a time and a place where a more under-the-radar, simple silhouette is better suited. Today, we’re here to talk about the latter. Enter: the minimalist movement.

While there are a slew of logo-less brands geared towards the minimalist lover, simple silhouettes can be found amongst even the most popular designer brands. There are so many options out there right now, but we narrowed down our favorite 12 to snag right now. Though they’re all on the simple side, they still pack a stylistic punch. Are you a fan of the minimalist movement? Which bag would you choose?

Thank you for a great article on ‘minimalist’ handbags. I fall squarely in the ‘no prominant logos’ and ‘no all-over branding’ camp. I have a lovely collection of luxury, minimally branded handbags and I’ve never regretted or re-homed a single purchase. An added bonus is that they’re great conversation starters.

I love Polene for beautiful leather, minimalist design, and reasonable prices.

I enjoy minimalist bags, but the Khaite Osa Tote carries a hefty price for what it is.

For the Ages is actually super minimalist too, it’s mainly fabric bags but they just launched a faux leather bagguette I am saving up for the holidays…so dreamy!

The Loewe Flamenco bag is made with a super soft leather and the design is so minimalist. There is a video in loewe.com.

Celine makes beautiful classic bags with very minimalist branding too.

The best bag, IMO, is Staud Alec; no logos or designs. Plain is best.
