PurseBlog Beauty: 5 Products Kaitlin Can’t Live Without

From old favorites to new obsessions, these beauty buys are must-haves

Aside from a tenth-grade addiction to lining my eyes in too much black eyeliner, my makeup routine has always been fairly minimal. I tend to rely on the less is more theory, and after a solid 12 years of wearing makeup, I’ve got my lineup down pat. Additionally, my no-fuss formula takes no more than ten minutes. My current rotation includes tried-and-true products I’ve been using for years, as well as new favorites that I’ve discovered throughout the past few months. What products are your go-tos? Let us know in the comments below!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
$24 via Sephora

I’ve heard so many great things about this popular liquid lipstick from Stila. Aside from a few extra swipes of bronzer, my night-out makeup routine is pretty much exactly the same as my everyday formula, so I rely on a bold lip to make my look pop for evening. I love the vast array of shades in this line, but I tried ‘Rubino,’ a rich, deep red and ‘Firenze,’ a dusty rose. I’m completely obsessed with both colors, and I love the matte pigment they leave behind. Additionally, even with lots of eating (and drinking too!), the color really does stay put.

Dior Hydra Life BB Creme
$60 via Sephora

I’ve been using this BB Creme from Dior for about 6 months now. I don’t wear a heavy liquid foundation, so I rely on a good BB cream for coverage. I used to use one by Boscia, but I found that the pigment separated from the liquid, and after a couple of months water came squirting out of the tube and I had to shake it back together every time I used it–weird! A sales associate at Sephora recommended this one, and I LOVE it. It’s lightweight, but offers good coverage for my trouble spots and blends well with the rest of my skin. It’s also super hydrating and leaves my skin with a dewy glow. An added bonus is the product’s SPF protection.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
$38 via Sephora

This Laura Mercier powder is one of my newer discoveries as well. As I mentioned above, I don’t wear liquid foundation because I prefer lighter weight products that still offer decent coverage. This setting powder, when paired with Dior’s BB Creme, is, in my opinion, the perfect alternative to liquid foundation. This powder is super light, which leaves my face room to breath, but I love that it keeps my somewhat oily skin under control.

Benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Powder Blush
$29 via Sephora

This stuff is the bomb–no pun intended! I’ve been using this blush for about 5 years now. It gives your skin the most gorgeous, peachy glow. It’s an amazing product that I use year-round, but it’s even more stunning in the summer with a good tan.

Dior Diorshow Iconic Waterproof Mascara
$29.50 via Sephora

This ‘iconic’ product is one I’ve been using forever. A Dior mascara might very well have been one of the first things I ever purchased at Sephora, once I was at the age where I could afford my own makeup and made the switch from drugstore brands. Ever since, I’ve been using this tried-and-true mascara. I love that it makes my short, blonde eyelashes seem incredibly long, and I’ve gotten compliments on my lashes from strangers numerous times. I always credit Diorshow! I wear the waterproof version year round because my eyes are either tearing up from the cold NYC breeze or pouring sweat in the heat of summer.
