Though the Balenciaga City bag is one of those rare bags that’s never needed a reintroduction because it never really went anywhere, this year it is having a major, and I mean MAJOR, renaissance. Plus, with the return of its original details like the iconic studding, long laced zipper pulls, and lacquered leather handles, the original Le City is being embraced by an entirely new generation of fans.
One of those fans is none other than Ms. Bella Hadid. The model and Gen Z style icon (though Bella herself is a Millennial/Gen Z cusp) was just five years old when the Le City first made its debut. Still, few style icons of this generation have adopted the return of Y2K fashion, like Ms. Hadid.

Bella, an avid horseback rider, began dating her cowboy boyfriend Adan Banuelos in late 2023 and has now fully embraced the western look—with her own spin, of course. The model wore an iteration of the Balenciaga Le City we’ve not yet seen while out and about in LA over the weekend, and we are obsessed.
