The last time we wrote about the Marc by Marc Jacobs Save the Birds Lenny Day Bag, the Saks pre-order sold out so quickly that many people didn’t get a chance to reserve theirs. Now that it’s back, we thought we’d let you know in case you’re one of the people whose pre-order attempts weren’t successful the first time around.

And if this is your first time hearing of this bag, please allow us to register a hearty recommendation in its favor; the materials are beautiful, the design is interesting but functional, and the price is far more palatable than we’d expect for a purse that looks this good. For those who prefer darker colors, the bag also comes in chocolate brown. Buy through Saks for $528.

P.S. Please consider supporting our small, bag-loving team by clicking our links before shopping or checking out at your favorite online retailers like Amazon, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or any of the listed partners on our shop page. We truly appreciate your support!

      ITA that it’s ugly!

  • kemilia

I don’t care for the flaps and that skinny chain at all.

  • 19yearslater

I think it looks very high-end for a pretty mid-range price.

  • Vitta

I love it – the style, the price, the size. There’s something very unique about it. Edgy, yet elegant. No wonder it was initially pre-sold. I’m going to order it in chocolate. Thank you for the heads-up!

  • Stylista

It looks like a piece of flimsy wax paper folded together to look like a bag. Sorry, but no! Maybe, MAYBE, choco brown would look better.

I lvoe the shape but I believe that thecolor is not “so beautiful” and the general apperance is a bit “cheap, shabby”..-..I don’t know, I lvoe the bag but I can’t like it completely!

  • Mochababe73

I didn’t like it in September, and I don’t like it now. It’s just really bad origami.

  • MAX

I like it though, but it’s IMPORTED that mean from China right?? cuz the price is too reasonable to be Marc Jacobs bag.

    • Vitta

Pretty much all leading brands have their handbags made overseas, including China. So, everything’s imported these days. Except for the Carlos Falchi handbags, which are made in the U.S.

  • Julie

Sorry – don’t like it at all. Looks cheap, too much going on and I agree with another poster’s comment about origami.

  • Karin bag4bag

It is intriguing but damn ugly ! I think the chain would be an annoyance.

  • Lola

I can see what some people mean by it looking “cheap”, but I think it would look amazing when styled properly! Definitely has a lot of potential (ipad)
