Miss Wu, you had me at “hello.”

New handbag lines launch all the time, but it’s relatively rare that one comes about that’s truly worth a look, let alone worth the money. After watching his accessories collection evolve for several seasons now, I can confidently say that Jason Wu’s bags are the real deal in every sense.

Fall might be a long time coming, but for a bag as good as the Jason Wu Miss Wu Tote in a seasonless shade of garnet, I’d suggest you start planning now. In a lot of ways, this bag reminds me of the Prada Limited Edition Runway to Green Tote that the brand produced for Net-a-Porter, except with just a bit more polish. The leather is shiny and smooth instead of matte and grained, and the enamel-laden hardware provides a subtle reminder of just who it was that designed the bag. I can’t help but love the whimsy of Wu’s little owl logo.

Salvatore Ferragamo Gancio Belt Line

When we previewed the Ferragamo FW 2011, we also were given a glimpse at some of their favorite Spring Summer 2011 items. The Salvatore Ferragamo Gancio Belt Line is the collection of bags that caught my eye for spring. Right when I tried the turquoise satchel on (pictured above), I instantly fell for it. Bottega Veneta’s Crocodile Knot Clutch is the stuff dreams are made of

Bottega Veneta Crocodile Box Clutch, $3450 via Matches UK.

I’ve never been the type to swoon, but if ever I needed a fainting couch, now is the time.

The affinity that Megs and I have for Bottega Veneta exotics is well-documented, and finding this Bottega Veneta Crocodile Knot Box Clutch in a perfect shade of pinky-orangey coral just took me to the next level. I don’t have the social schedule or the financial means to take this little box bag to all of the summertime garden parties that it deserves to see, but maybe someone out there does and could allow me to live vicariously.

Ralph Lauren Collection handbags debut at Net-a-Porter

Clockwise from top left: Ralph Lauren Collection Ricky Satchel, $4495 via Net-a-Porter. Ralph Lauren Collection Tiffin Tote, $2595 via Net-a-Porter. Ralph Lauren Collection Cartridge Bag, $2895 via Net-a-Porter. Ralph Lauren Collection Laced Metallic Tote, $1995 via Net-a-Porter.

For being such an enormous, world-renowned brand, Ralph Lauren Collection handbags can be mighty hard to come by. Even though I often see full-page ads for the Ralph Lauren Ricky Bag in glossy magazines, the only place I’ve ever seen one actually for sale was in a Ralph Lauren boutique, which seemed like an oddly narrow retail scheme for a bag that could potentially garner lots of sales at department stores and high-end online retailers if customers were able to become more familiar with the brand’s accessories.

Well, it looks as though Lauren is coming around to that way of thinking. Yesterday, Ralph Lauren Collection launched on PurseBlog favorite Net-a-Porter.com, and the initial handbag offerings include the absolutely drool-worthy Ricky satchel, as well as the Ralph Lauren Collection Cartridge Shoulder Bag, Ralph Lauren Collection Tiffin Leather Tote and the Ralph Lauren Collection Lace Metallic Tote. Take a look at some larger photos and let us know what you think, after the jump.

Fill in the blank: The Roberto Cavalli Doctor Fringed Bag is…

It has been a few weeks since we had you partake in a fill in the blank post and this Monday seems to be dragging so it is time for a little fun. Right when I laid my eyes on this bag I knew it would be a perfect post to have you share your opinion. We do not see many Roberto Cavalli handbags on PurseBlog and that is quite all right, since they never seem to be my style.

New to Net-A-Porter, the Roberto Cavalli Doctor Fringed Bag has plenty of design elements going on from gray distressed suede to knotted fringed detail and everything in between. In fact there is so much going on that it is simply too long for me to list. Amanda and I both had the same thought when we first saw this bag: Swamp Thing. Price is $3,785 via NAP.

Fill in the blank: The Roberto Cavalli Doctor Fringed Bag is _________.

Go bright with Balenciaga

Having spent all of Friday carrying my yellow Kate Spade Essex Scout Crossbody Bag around a series of furniture stores in pursuit of a new bed and mattress, I cannot extoll the virtues of a small, bright bag highly enough. Being hands-free for shopping is as convenient as you might imagine, but the flourish of color that such a bag provides is the real reason I was carrying that purse.

If you’d like something a little different than the Kate Spade bag but still in much the same wheelhouse (or if you’re just a Balenciaga nut like I am), check out the Balenciaga Arena Perforated Brogues Hip Bag. It’s bright, small and brimming with trendy details to get you all the way through to fall with use of both of your hands.

Psst…the new Proenza Schouler wallet also comes in purple!

Proenza Schouler PS1 Continental Wallet, $585 via ProenzaSchouler.com.

I didn’t think I’d ever see the day where I’d write two excited posts in one week about a wallet, of all things, but the boys at Proenza Schouler know how to get to me. Including the standout kelly green color in their first round of press photos for the Proenza Schouler PS1 Continental Wallet was enough to make me bite the first time around, but saving this delicious purple color until a few days later to squeeze another post out of me was truly a stroke of genius. What? They didn’t do this purely to manipulate my emotions? Are you sure?

Well, either way, now I want a purple one. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, I have a picture of another brand new color, military, after the jump. Neither is on the brand’s website quite yet, but when they are, you’ll be able you buy them via ProenzaSchouler.com for $585.

I just can’t get enough of this Marni hobo

Marni Woven Leather Hobo, $2330 via Net-a-Porter.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted about the Marni Woven Leather Hobo Bag already, but somehow it seems to have gotten passed over in the spring shuffle. What I can’t figure out, though, is how that managed to happen – I absolutely love it. I loved it as soon as I saw it on the runway back in September, and my love for the slouchy-yet-stark design has only grown since seeing how soft and wearable the bag would be in real life. This design is proof positive that neutrals don’t have to be boring background pieces.
