Chloé Ethel Large Leather Hobo

My oh my, it has been a few months now since we’ve covered a Chloé bag. My infatuation with Chloé bags started when Megs purchased her gorgeous Chloé Paddington a few years back. When she came home with it, I absolutely loved it and was hoping that one day I too would have a Paddington of my own. As I started to take note of the brand a bit more, I decided I didn’t have to set my sights on a Paddington because there were several others out there I could love just as much. However, all this got shoved to the back on my mind as I my love for Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin continued to grow.

But today, I found myself getting back to the basics. Well, at least back to Chloé basics.

Botkier James Leather Hobo

So, you might be looking at this bag and thinking to yourself, “um, Shannon, you guys already talked about this bag”. Yes, this is true, Amanda covered the Botkier James Hobo a couple weeks back. But see, the thing is, this color jumped out at me so much that I had to write about it again.

Amanda mentioned how she was completely loving this new bag and all of its features. I agreed with her then and I agree with her now. While you may or may not agree with me, I actually believe this washed denim look is as fabulous if not MORE fabulous than the black option Amanda covered earlier.

Alexander McQueen Camouflage Skull & Rose Tote

For those of you who think that Alexander McQueen handbags might be a little too out there for your taste, I may have found a bag for you.

Looking at the name of the bag, I was wondering what was really meant by the word camouflage. Did it have to do with the colors, the design, some hidden meaning? It is not that McQueen camouflaged his genius or his innate ability to take design to the next level. Perhaps the word surrounds the idea that the bag is a bit more understated than most of us might be used to.

Moncler Grenoble FW 2010: Bringing Back the Fanny Pack?

This past Sunday, I attended the Moncler Grenoble FW 2010 presentation, and being a bag person, I was immediately drawn towards the use of fanny packs. Let’s just say it was rather extensive. Models stood motionless on four levels of scaffolding; spotlights shone on different groups of them to the tune of classical and opera music. I daresay it was all very dramatic and lovely, since I’m a personal fan of Moncler, but I couldn’t help but wonder about the fanny packs. They were rather large and round, and I couldn’t help but wonder if the models had little heaters tucked inside them. Not that they would need heaters; if there’s anything Moncler is known for, it’s the warmth that their signature shiny puffers provide.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Ruched Leather Satchel

Earlier today, I wrote about a bag that could be carried by women of all ages. I love that option when it comes to a handbag, but at the same time there is something to be said for bags that are made with a particular woman in mind. Almost every interview that we’ve conducted, we typically ask a question that has to do with who a designer designs for. While we haven’t had a chance to interview Michael Kors (yet, hopefully), I am sure we can conjure up who he had in mind with this bag.

Hermes Jypsiere

The Hermes Kelly is an iconic bag, but with its structured shape and usual smaller sizes, it lends a very dressy vibe to your outfits. When Hermes sent out the Jypsiere for their Fall 2008 collection, everyone who had been wanting a more casual everyday Kelly were enthused. The Hermes Jypsiere reinterpreted the Hermes Kelly by changing it into a messenger bag that will sit at the hip. The slightly rounded bottom and adjustable shoulder strap reinvented the Kelly in a way most people did not expect.

Hype Andy Wristlet Clutch

Do you remember a few years back where wristlets were all the rage? Well, maybe it was just during my college years and maybe said rage is still going strong. (Those of you in college, feel free to update me.) At this point, I am not really in the market for a wristlet, but I won’t shy away when I come across one.

Hype handbags, as new as you may be to them, almost always boast some lovely leather. It is great to see that no matter how large or small the bag, the quality of leather isn’t sacrificed. I’ve noticed some lesser-known handbag lines that seem to practically use leather swatches on their small bags in order to save a dime. Note to said designers, never compromise on quality, despite the size of the bag.

Mulberry Fall 2010 Favorite Look

Mulberry put on their Fall 2010 show in both NYC and London. The color palette was not muted neutrals like many other shows we saw, rather bold jewel toned colors, which was a welcomed change to many other shows we saw. The Mulberry show was playful and youthful, while still retaining a fashionable upper hand.

I was checking all of the photos and came across my favorite look from the show. This look appeals to me in every way possible.

Rebecca Minkoff The Basket Weave Clutch

We cover Rebecca Minkoff Bags rather often here on Purse Blog Savvy as well as over on PurseBlog. These contemporary bags are quickly becoming staple pieces for so many women, young and old. One of the amazing things about Rebecca Minkoff bags is how versatile they are. There are some bags that fit the younger crowd a bit better, but overall, these bags are extremely well carried. This clutch is a perfect example of this versatility that I am talking about.
