Giuseppe Zanotti Red Sequin Clutch

Giuseppe Zanotti Red Sequin Clutch

Do any of you guys watch Dexter? I’m utterly obsessed with it. I can’t recap it because it’s not at all fashioned-related, but if I could, I would. Also, I would marry Dexter and I wouldn’t be nearly as annoying and self-righteous as that a-hole Rita. Ahem.

I also really love the aesthetic that they have for their advertising and promotional materials – a bit minimalist, a bit comic book, a bit blood-spattered macabre – and when I saw the Giuseppe Zanotti Red Sequin Clutch, I couldn’t help but be reminded of America’s favorite serial killer.

Michael Kors Patent Woven Clutch

Michael Kors Patent Woven Clutch

Minimalism usually isn’t part of my aesthetic (my preferences usually involve finding something tacky enough to choke a horse, and then dialing it back ever-so-slightly), but I’ll admit that it has its place. And this winter, when everything is covered with detail and embellishment, it’s even kind of surprising. Doesn’t the Michael Kors Patent Woven Clutch look like a breath of fresh air?

Marc by Marc Jacobs Magazine Leather Clutch

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen the Magazine Clutch, but since Marc Jacobs continues to change everything up a bit, I figured it was worthwhile to discuss this particular version as well. I discussed the shape of this clutch almost a year ago. I liked it then and I like it now. Recently, Amanda wrote about the Stamped Velvet version which looks a bit more like this one.

Jalda Ostrich Stamped Leather Brief Clutch

Folks, I am really liking this clutch right now. While the color might need to grow on you, I think you might be surprised how nice it would look – especially with some of those dark fall outfits. The Jalda Ostrich Stamped Leather Brief Clutch is a gorgeous, simple and functional clutch that would look great in just about anyone’s hand. Jalda handbags are known for their functionality and there is nothing wrong with this.

Harajuku Lovers Graphic Typography Yippie Canvas Tote

My initial reaction to the Harajuku Lovers Graphic Typography Yippie Canvas Tote was that I think they stole New York magazine’s font. See it? In the N? I think that they’re the same. Their logo is pretty well-known, so I would think that it had to be done intentionally. And I think I kind of like it.

But what really struck me, on further inspection, was the price of the bag – about $40. Thank God that there’s still a brand out there pricing their canvas bags reasonably!

Jerome Dreyfuss Luciene Suede Fringe Bag

Sometimes, and Idea is just too complicated to be rendered in real life. There are too many elements, too many things happening at once, and too much opportunity for discord to bring every idea to fruition.

However, it appears that that didn’t stop the folks at Jerome Dreyfuss when they designed the Jerome Dreyfuss Luciene Suede Fringe Bag. Suede, leopard print, detachable fringe, zip-off pockets, magenta for contrast? It’s all here!

Miu Miu Ombre Paillette-Embellished Clutch

Miu Miu Ombre Paillette-Embellished Clutch

Ombré is, admittedly, a really difficult thing to pull off. It has to be the correct color transition, done in the correct shades, and with the correct depth of color. I’m not sure why the good people at Miu Miu thought that this would be a good thing to try and do with giant sequins on a tiny bag, then, but I can tell you that the Miu Miu Ombré Paillette-Embellished Clutch does not work out as well as they probably intended.

Badgley Mischka Platinum Label Carina Leather Hobo

Hmmmm, something seems off here but I can’t quite decide. There is part of me the actually really likes the Badgley Mischka Platinum Label Carina Leather Hobo and then there is another part of me that doesn’t. The shape of this bag screams classic hobo which I am totally fine with. I can also appreciate the tie detail on the strap but I fear that it is just a bit too much.

Tory Burch Amanda Mini Bag

I’ll be honest with you: first and foremost, I chose to write about the Tory Burch Amanda Mini Bag because I share a name with it. I tend to always dislike things that are also “Amanda,” but I quite like this one, and when you’re charged with finding eight handbags per day to write about, well, that’s reason enough.

But upon further examination, my favorite part isn’t that the bag and I have the same name – it’s that instead of the usual gold hardware, Tory Burch chose to use a beautiful dark silver tone.
