Salvatore Ferragamo Apollonia Bag

Salvatore Ferragamo Apollonia Bag Salvatore Ferragamo is a brand known for its ready-to-wear and picturesque shoes (that are divinely comfortable might I add). The shoes are statement pieces that stand on their own immaculately. But the handbags from Salvatore Ferragamo are not as well known as the shoes, but they should be. While I have … Read more

Marc Jacobs Sunburst Stam

At this point, we’ve seen the Marc Jacobs Stam in many incarnations. There were the original black and petrol quilted versions, way back in 2005. We’ve had oversized quilts, silver and blue python, and, for one season, the Stam Hobo (anyone know where I can still get one of these?). I myself have the traditional black version with the original suede lining, and it’s one of my favorite bags I’ve ever had – both men and women stop me to gawk at it, even though it’s 3 years old and has been ripped off a hundred times by a hundred other brands and stores.

What we’ve yet to see, though, is a regular, leather, UNQUILTED Stam. Well, ask and we shall receive, because that’s one of the things that Jacobs has up to bat for Fall/Winter 2008, by the name of the Marc Jacobs Sunburst Stam. I’ve been waiting for it to show up online for quite a while, and Saks finally has it up for presale today for $1395 in charcoal grey (grey, people, grey!).

Review: Lambertson Truex Dietrich

Richard Lambertson and John Truex have quickly become one of our favorite design teams. Their designs are flawless, meticulous, pay close attention to each detail, and are ultimately wearable. The only downfall they ever fall on is being too safe, too far away from monogramming their bags. I am not asking for a tacky monogram all over, but they should show off a bit more, let us all know that this is theirs! With their clutches the signature LT closure signals that this is Lambertson Truex without going overboard. After reviewing the Lambertson Truex Gallo, I was left in love and wanting more. And with a shipment of quite a few Lambertson Truex Bags from the resort collection, we had a selection to choose from.

Maison Martin Margiela Airbrushed Wolf Bag

Shirt found on eBay I think I get the reference here. I really think I do. I think Maison Martin Margiela is trying to give a not-so-sly nod to those eternally unfashionable t-shirts from the late 80s and early 90s with majestically airbrushed scenes of wolves or tigers or other predatory beasts on them. Their … Read more

Purple Clutches

I have a purple obsession. Not a small liking, an extreme loving of the color! Back in high school, as I was still trying to find my style and way in the world, I read in Cosmo magazine that girls with blue eyes and blond hair look best in purple. Now at that time, I was not much of a girly color lover. There was no pink, or frills, or glitter. I was all about the color blue, but purple really went from being my frienemie to my friend around junior year. Furthermore, purple can be in deep sultry shades that are ravishing. I read that magazine article, I started tuning into my girly side a bit, and bought a cute purple and white backpack for the new school year. Since then, my infatuation with purple has grown immensely. The color really does look amazing on me, so I try to wear it often. And one of my favorites ways to bring purple into my wardrobe is through handbags.

I adore my Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Montaigne Clutch in purple, it is my companion for many occasions. But for dress down, I would love another funky purple clutch to play around with. I found an array of great options at Shop Bop that are perfect for my casual style. Now it is time to narrow it down and pick one out! Which purple clutch would you pick?

Fendi Vintage Leather Twins Tote

The so-called style of the Olsen’s twins has received quite a bit of press, but not always good press. The once cute-as-a-button Full House stars have transformed their looks into quite the memorable look. Very casual, very covered up, and very grandma-chic. Don’t ask me to explain it further, I just have no idea what the girls are thinking most of the time!

And when Ashley began incessantly carrying an exotic and vintage Fendi bag, the handbag lovers of the world went nuts. What is this bag they asked, where can we find it they demanded, I need it they exclaimed! I quite liked her bag, but word on the street was it truly was not in stores and was vintage and quite unattainable. So I stopped looking, as I do not eBay like the rest of the world (I know, I am out of the times).

But as some speculated, the exposure and popularity that came from Ashley carrying the bag catapulted Fendi into designing a bag to satiate the wants and needs of their customers. This is what the Fendi Vintage Leather Twins Tote has come here to do; satisfy the never ending customers who have yearned for the Olsen Fendi bag for over a year now. The problem is that this version is new but Fendi attempted to make it vintage-like. And then there is the simple leather version, not the exotic crocodile. And really, we all WANTED THE CROC! So, while Fendi did what they thought the public was asking for, and recreated the Twins Tote, they may not see it flying off the shelves. I can say that I for one am not very moved. The bag is made of smooth grained leather, finished with polished gold metal hardware, and features the same double F link attachments as the handbag Ashley sported constantly. Dimensions are 15.5″x 12″x 6″. And the price, well again, to me not even close to worth it. Also available in black, buy through eLuxury for $1630.

Review: RM Morning After Mini in Navy Luxe Combo

The allure behind Rebecca Minkoff bags continues with a sneak peak at the Holiday 2008 collection. We got our hands on some exclusive goods to show you all what is to come from this young, hot designer. Pairing the success of the Morning After with the funky basketweave-like touch, the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini is ready for Holiday in a Navy Luxe Combo. You know why I love this bag? It is the supple deep navy leather paired with the stiff brighter patent leather blue. And while the patent stands out, it is not completely distracting. It is like the perfect little combination of colors that look like blue jeans with a punch.

Hermes Stays Ahead

As many struggle in this economy, the French fashion house Hermes flourishes. The company turned in a 24% gain in U.S. sales for the first half of the fiscal year. While other luxury companies are struggling, the exclusive Hermes continues to churn out sales. Now, I must admit, my luscious Hermes Kelly Long Wallet in alligator goes to show that we, the people, are still shopping and buying ridiculously expensive bags from the luxury house. There are plenty of Crocodile Birkins, Kellys, scarves, and chinaware being bought along with all other exclusive Hermes goods to keep the brand bringing in a profit. Also, the price hikes are not hurting.

See by Chloe Animalia Keychains

I find that most who love handbags have an affinity for keychains. It all goes hand in hand, and really, a cute key chain is a nice little touch to your car keys. Right now I have a Louis Vuitton keychain, a great Christmas gift from a friend, attached to my car keys. But I have always liked the idea of the key pouch, the key chain that allows you to stash some cash, credit card, id, and that is all you need. I have a key pouch from Bottega Veneta, yet I always forget to use it. It is simple, just as Bottega likes to be, but what if you want a little more spice and zest?
