Dior Nylon Cannage Drawstring Bag

I feel like it has been eons since we have discussed a Christian Dior Handbag. Not really sure why we have not. Actually, I am. Their bags have been ugly. Yes, that is why. But a funky little 80’s number has been released and I am digging it. The Dior Nylon Cannage Drawstring Bag is … Read more

Katie Holmes Style: Name that Bag!

Many think little Joey Potter from Dawson’s Creek is looking older than she really is with the hair cut, but I absolutely love it. Does anyone else find it odd that I still refer to her as Joey from Dawson’s Creek? Gosh, that is like, so yesterday. Either way, that is still the way I see her. Looking stunningly put together and very proper, Katie Holmes was seen leaving Eden Roc Hotel in Cap d’Antibes looking anything like a girl from a creek. The white pants are stunning and very fitting for this long legged beauty, the white tee is simple, the brown leather vest adds contrast, and the yellow designer handbag is the perfect outfit topper. Yes she is young, but she pulls this refined look off well. It’s Friday, let’s play Name that Bag!

Britney Spears Fashion Disaster: Name that Bag!

britney spears fashion disaster

Just when we thought she was doing the slightest bit better, Britney Spears is at it again. At what you may ask, well at dressing herself in fashion disasters. There may have been a time in many of our lives where we wore tiny shorts and itsy-bitsy shirts that were popping open and thought we looked ok. Britney Spears does this too. Problem is that she is now 25, mother of two, and constantly in the spot light. Other major problem is that she *knows* she will be in the spotlight. Does she not check out a mirror? Does no one from her entourage try to subtly tell her, “hell no do not do that”? Guess not. If she would like, I will assist her in covering her body up and I will do it for free. Yes, I am that kind. At least she is sporting a new handbag. This bag I actually dig; it is funky with its brass stud detailing. While her fashion is a disaster, her bag is hip. So let’s stop making fun of her and just play Name that Bag!

Cameron Diaz Style: Huge Fashion Don’t in Peru

A huge fashion Don’t was committed by Cameron Diaz earlier this week. While traveling in Peru, Cameron sported a bag with the slogan “Serve the People,” made by Communist leader Mao Zedong. The insurgency by this leader and campaign ended in nearly 70,000 people dead.

Should she have known better? Should she have looked into what the bag meant? Or is this no big deal?

AGUAS CALIENTES, Peru – Actress Cameron Diaz appears to have committed a major fashion faux pas in Peru.

The voice of Princess Fiona in the animated “Shrek” films may have inadvertently offended Peruvians who suffered decades of violence from a Maoist guerrilla insurgency by touring here Friday with a bag emblazoned with one of Mao Zedong’s favorite political slogans.

While explored the Inca city of Machu Picchu high in Peru’s Andes, Diaz wore over her shoulder an olive green messenger bag emblazoned with a red star and the words “Serve the People” printed in Chinese on the flap, perhaps Chinese Communist leader Mao’s most famous political slogan.

While the bags are marketed as trendy fashion accessories in some world capitals, the phrase has particular resonance in Peru, where the Maoist Shining Path insurgency brought Peru to edge of chaos in the 1980s and early 1990s with a campaign of massacres, assassinations and bombings.

Nearly 70,000 people were killed during the insurgency.

A prominent Peruvian human rights activist said the star of “There’s Something About Mary” should have been a little more aware of local sensitivities when picking her accessories.

“It alludes to a concept that did so much damage to Peru, that brought about so many victims,” said Pablo Rojas about the bag’s slogan. “I don’t think she should have used that bag where the followers of that ideology” did so much damage.

Bottega Veneta Woven Trapezoidal Hobo

Bottega Veneta Woven Trapezoidal Hobo1 The lush and buttery soft woven leather has placed Bottega Veneta on a designer handbag pedestal. The prices of BV Bags are not cheap, but they are worth the price. New for fall, the Bottega Veneta Woven Trapezoidal Hobo combines femininity with Scala Rose woven leather, a slouchy shape, and a wide woven strap. Brass hardware is the perfect choice to accent the rose leather. At either end of the shoulder strap is a woven leather ring detail. The fold over flap closure stays in place with a hidden magnetic closure. Nothing other than smooth suede lining and in inside pocket finish the bag off. But style and craftsmanship does not come cheap, although if you ask me it is more than worth it to splurge on this divine brand. Pre-order at Saks for $2250.
