For all of you who love brown handbags, I apologize profusely as it seems you got stuck with a group of gals who share more of an affinity to black handbags. When we find a great brown bag, we will not cease to share it with you. This time I think I found a brown bag with a black counterpart that I like even less.

So, how do we all feel about calf hair? Until I saw the Yves Saint Laurent Calf Hair Majorelle Bag, I hadn’t considered the material in quite a while, but now it has me thinking.
Despite my recent love affair with all things Yves Saint Laurent, this bag is coming off as quite clunky to me, and I think that the blame lies with the fuzzy material.
On September 10th, Yves Saint Laurent officially launched their much anticipated YSL Roady. The YSL Roady has been garnering attention from editors, celebrities, and fashionistas alike. This launch remained important for YSL, as it is one of the first major launches since the success of the Muse and Muse II.
The list of celebrities already carrying the bag include; Mary Kate Olsen, Rachel Bilson, Selma Blair, Freida Pinto, Tilda Swinton, Leighton Meester, Kate Beckinsale, Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue.
I’ve had a bit of a crush on Yves Saint Laurent since their pre-fall bags started rolling out, and it doesn’t look to be ending any time soon. I normally prefer things with a bit more of an edgy look, so this might be a sign of maturation on my part. Or maybe the bags are just that good – maybe they’re so well-designed that it’s impossible not to find some kind of attractiveness in them, no matter what your personal taste.
You know, I didn’t really expect Yves Saint Laurent to go along with the stud trend. Their bags are so consistently understated and sleek that I didn’t think they’d subscribe to such an edgy and obvious trend, but I was wrong, and very happily so.
The Yves Saint Laurent Studded Satchel is a trendy bag with a decidedly refined touch.
Another major design house has joined the world of social media. As of August 1st, Yves Saint Laurent became official on both Twitter and Facebook to reach out with their fans and share news on fashion shows, products, special products and events, campaigns, and celebrity dressing.
Also, Yves Saint Laurent released the fifth edition of Manifesto featuring Christy Turlington, which was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
I can’t wear heels. I won’t get into the story of exactly why because it’s gruesome and I don’t want to ruin the next few minutes of your life, but suffice it to say, heels are not an option. Also, I can’t wear most knee-high boots because I have enormous calves, and most designers don’t embrace the big calf market. So my ability to appreciate and enjoy the new over-the-knee-boot trend is limited to merely watching from a distance, so that’s what I’m here to do: which of you girls out there have jumped the bandwagon and bought them already, and which of you plan to later?
Sometimes, you look at a bag and it just screams luxury. There’s no question that it’s made out of amazing materials that will last a lifetime, and it’ll be stylish for just as long as it’s wearable. You can buy it without worry that it won’t fit into your wardrobe or that you won’t find a use for it. Sometimes, a bag is just that straightforward and just that good.
Ever find a bag that just SPEAKS to you? Like, on a personal level that other people may not understand? That’s what the Yves Saint Laurent Spiral Clutch is doing to me. And I’d love to…nay, I HAVE TO…have it.
See, I’m a writer. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was six. Writers often have an odd relationship with the old-school tools of our trade; pens, notebooks, things like that.
