Want It Wednesday: Rebecca Minkoff Jacket, Bib Necklace, Theodora and Callum Scarf Top

Hello Summer! We are hiding inside today, with the AC on full blast and the shades down to keep the sweltering heat from entering PurseBlog headquarters. But no matter how hot it is, we always have our minds on the next thing we want to add to our collections. From the coveted Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket to a long statement necklace to a great summer cover-up, the PurseBlog team has a new list of things we want this Wednesday.

Megs | Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket with Contrast Lapels | $348 via ShopBop
I’ve been pining for a Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket for a while now. Season after season, the RM team releases this jacket in a variety of colors and each season I find myself wanting it more and more. Like many of Rebecca’s other hit items, celebs and style bloggers alike are being spotted in versions of the Becky jacket. I like this option for summer, the majority of the silk jacket is in nude while the lapels are finished in a contrasting yellow. This will look great with summer whites and jean shorts alike.

Amanda | Jules Smith Egyptian Nights Bib Necklace | $160 via ShopBop
Beyond handbags, my absolute favorite accessory of all is a statement necklace. Because they sit near people’s sight lines and at the front of the body, a giant necklace is perhaps the most impactful piece of jewelry you can choose, and boy, do I choose them. I usually go for bright stones or enamel, but because I wear far more color and print in summer than I do during the rest of the year, it’s important for me to have a few neutral necklaces in my arsenal to complete a look that’s already full of enough personality to stand on its own. For this summer, I’m eying the Jules Smith Egyptian Nights Bib Necklace.

Weathered gold goes with both warm colors and warm weather, and with temperatures nearing 100 degrees in New York City today, I’ve got both in spades. This necklace is suitably large for my tastes, and even though the relatively reasonably price point means that I could use it as a summer-only piece, the classic metal and geometric design make it something that could become a year-round wardrobe staple. For now, though, this necklace and a patterned maxi dress make for a quick, easy summer ensemble.

Hilary | Theodora and Callum Tie Dye Scarf Top | $195 via ShopBop

OK – so I’m not one for bright summer colors and patterns. I live in a uniform of black, gray, navy and white. (Don’t judge. I live in New York.) So when summer rolls around and inevitable beach time presents itself, cover-ups are a bit of an issue for me. I’m not going to be seen in one of those bright, printed or embroidered tunic-type things all the girls are wearing. I feel dumpy in a T-shirt, and my white romper from last summer turned a weird shade of yellowy-greige from exposure to sand and sunscreen, which presents some problems when choosing beachwear. This Theodora and Callum Tie Dye Scarf Top is the answer to my prayers. Summery enough to look chic in the Hamptons without deviating from my color palette. SCORE!
