Love It or Hate It: The Valentino Girello Flap Shoulder Bag

You know, there’s something thrilling about coming across bags that fall into the pre-order category. Now don’t get me wrong, anything that is pre-order can also make my eye twitch while simultaneously making me want to pull out my hair. Regardless of the emotional roller coaster, I always spend time looking at pre-order items. And friends, that is exactly what I did yesterday. I found myself going from bag to bag on the Nordstrom site. While there were a few I was sure I wanted, there others I absolutely couldn’t waste my pre-order excitement on.

Then there was this gem. I had quite the internal struggle, folks. I liked it, then I hated it, then I liked it again. The Valentino Girello Flap Shoulder Bag successfully short-circuited my ability to form a definitive opinion.

Perhaps surprisingly, it was the shoulder straps that popped out at me and caught my attention (in a good way). I know that might seem a little odd, but I’m in love with these shoulder straps. They are the perfect combination of feminine, sophisticated and youthful. But then, my eyes, of course, saw the rest of the bag. I enjoy the rosso-colored leather very much; it’s a great shade that can easily be carried during any time of the year. However, there is something about the floral pattern that I both love and loathe at the exact same time. That’s where I am stuck.

I look once and I love it. I find myself daydreaming about pairing it with a fabulous flirty spring outfit. I look a second time and dare I say it, but there is something “cheap” about the floral design. I look a third time and, well, I like it again! What is my deal? While I might still be on the fence as I conjure up a definitive decision, I am reaching out to you, handbag enthusiasts. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this Valentino wonder.

Oh, and in case you are one of the people who are on the “love it” side of the fence, pre-order through Nordstrom for $2,595.
