Valentino Paillette-Embellished Tote

Sometimes, a little bit of bad taste is the best thing that you can add to an outfit. There’s nothing worse than looking too perfect, too precious, and like you’re trying way too hard. Personality is to be embraced and celebrated in personal style, not avoided.

Admittedly, the Valentino Paillette-Embellished Tote is what you might consider a heaping helping of bad taste. And you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong. In fact, I can’t think of one compelling reason that you would be. But it makes me smile anyway, and sometimes, isn’t that what’s important?

Valentino Paillette Embellished Tote

Liberace must be resting happily in his grave, knowing full well that his fashion legacy is being realized through the house of Valentino. I’ve never held this bag myself, but its surface is so thick with sequins and rhinestones that I’m sure it must weigh a ton and a half. A ton and a half of purse fabulous, that is.

I don’t know where, how, or why you would ever wear this bag, but it’s obnoxiously shiny and unfortunate in a way that makes me kind of giggle at its very existence. At the same time, this bag must require quite a few man hours to assemble, and obviously someone thought that it was a fantastic idea. And really, I like that kind of chutzpah. Even if it is FAHbulously misplaced. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $4695.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it says this is sold out on NAP’s site – OMG?…

Not my style, but some would find this gorgeous and could certainly pull this off with confidence and the right outfit.

Ew, fringe! The jewels are kind of fun, but they’re the opposite look to fringe. Never on the same bag. This is way, way too expensive for a disco ball that stumbled into a western film.

I am in love with this bag. Bad taste in a really good way! Unfortunately for me, there’s the problem of a $4695 price tag…

    Weeeeeell…

that 5k Prada fur ball was pretty scary, but to me this Thing simply redefines ‘abomination’.
I bet the jewels – yep that whole heap of them lurking in the sequin sea- aren’t even real.
Thankfully, it and it’s evil sisters are rounded up from a.o. NAP as we speak, and are being put away in dark closets around the world.
Brave women guards of the Valentino Paillette=embellished Tote, I salute you: thanks to your bravery (or momentary lapse of reason) Sequin Sickness will spread no further in the purse realm. Or so I hope…

This bag almost hurts my eyes.
    But in a good way.
…I think I could see carrying this bag on New Years Eve (or to some other fun event) with understated skinny jeans, my highest heeled black leather booties and a pale coral silk camisole. Pointy party hat and champagne optional:-D
