Valentino Fleurs Couture Tote

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Whether you like their bags or not, Valentino does the best detail work in the business. There’s not a major designer that can touch them when it comes to taking regular (albeit extremely supple and wonderful) leather and turning it into something that is far more than the sum of its parts. Behold: the Valentino Fleurs Couture Tote.

That the designers behind the brand managed to create such a beautiful menagerie of flowers from leather is, at the very least, impressive. The color combination my favorite, but that seems like a minor quibble when faced with this kind of leather work. Still, the contrast that the colors create is important to differentiate all of the texture and detail that is contained in the bag; simple building this in black wouldn’t do it justice.

Just like all Valentino bags, this one comes with a hefty price tag. But if it wasn’t justified for something so intricate and made out of such fine materials, then for what exactly would it be justified? Buy through Nordstrom for $2690.

I love Valentino bags! They are always featured on purseblog but we have no Valentino section on the PurseForum which is a shame! please please add Valentino to PurseForum or tell me what we need to do (petition or whatnot) to get it added? Thanks! love purseblog/purseforum/bag that style! :)

I appreciate the workmanship, but the bag is ugly. Maybe it would have worked if the flowers were black. Trust me, I am not a fan of black handbags. Most of mine were colored, but sometimes, it just makes good sense.
    This bag is too busy.

There’s something sexy about this bag! :-)

    Lively, vibrant, stylish too.

Would NEVER get it though. Nooo, thanx.

If the bag were white, it would look like a cake with lots of buttercream roses. I love cake covered with frosting flowers but not a handbag; but gotta give Valentino its due–they do detail very well.

Just what I was thinking! Do I watch too much “Ace of Cakes”?

Ah, j’aime les fleurs! The combination of colors and the beautiful craftsmanship. It’s like wearing a garden, but not the way Grandma does it.

    Hot Mess!

  • Jenn

Yes, please!!! (I just bought my second Valentino — in one week. I think I’m in love.)

  • Jacqueline Suzanne

    Oh Noooo!!!

  • bebe

maybe the craftsmanship is great but it still looks ugly.

  • Jane

The leather looks so lush, I wonder if it is as soft as it looks? It is a bag with a lot of personality, but I still love it.

The general rule of thumb with Valentino bags is that they’re ALWAYS as soft as they look. They use some of the best leather in the biz.

too many flowers like carrying a garden around

    Not for me!

i do admire the details and skill that went into this particular bag, but i agree with mochababe, it’s on the hideous side.

I LOVE this bag. Of course it’s very expensive, but it’s downright gorgeous.

It’s okay, I guess, but all I can think about when I look at it is the Cockney flower girl in My Fair Lady, Eliza Doolittle? Different strokes I suppose!

  • sosti

I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either I m sure the leather is TDF!!

  • Karin bag4bag

It is the ugliest bag I have seen for a while but also the most beautiful at the same time. Intriguing.

  • MsMellody

Lovely, flowers are gorgeous. I think that I would like to have it if the bag were Ivory with the same flower details. However, lovely craftsmanship!!

All in all : Artsy, I would love to carry it if it were a gift!!

  • chloehandbags

I think this would have been more beautiful if the red and yellow flowers hadn’t been added and the whole of the left side and most of the bottom of the bag had been left plain.

I think it would have been much better if it had looked as though the flowers were climbing up the side of the bag, rather than smothering it entirely.

I also would have preferred it, personally, if the pink had been either slightly more vibrant, or more of a blush pink and if the bag had been more of a casual style (like a long strapped hobo, for example), personally.

    Undeniably gorgeous details, though.

^ Sorry, one too many ‘personally’s! LOL! :D

I like the look. I’d do a piece of art w/ this and other bags in my white wall :)

  • melissa

I have to admit it could look a little tacky … however, I think up close it probably looks amazing when you can see the quality of the leather. I love it! Too bad its kinda funky and too expensive for an everyday bag.

  • Anna

Love it…But far too expensive for me (even on sale)

  • lykrealones

Can be helpful when you attend a wedding & some flowers are missing……

  • Melissa

I love this. With a simple outfit this could do wonders! I am seriously considering the purchase, fun is never bad….
