Although I don’t watch Pretty Little Liars myself, I seem to be in the minority among the PurseBlog team, as well as among my friends in general. When Gossip Girl started to lose its luster, a lot of women who were looking for a similarly soapy good time started watching the ABC Family show, but don’t let the network’s name fool you – the PLL’s appeal seems to go far beyond the tweens and teens that you’d expect. The show’s success has elevated its four man stars – Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario, to varying levels of fame, and since the new season premiered earlier this week, we figured it was high time to take a look at their handbag collections.
The paparazzi seem to follow Lucy and Ashley with the most regularity, so we have more photos of them than their co-stars. Mostly, they make the kinds of handbag choices that you’d expect from starlets in their 20s on a Disney-backed network, but Ashley Benson in particular seems to be quite influenced by her Spring Breakers costars Selena Gomez (who loves Dolce & Gabbana) and Vanessa Hudgens (who loves to look like a hippie). We’ll start with Lucy Hale, who seems to be the breakout star of the series. Finally, my favorite of the PLL girls, Ashley Benson. Even if you don’t watch the show, you might have seen her earlier this year in ultra-weird (and, in my opinion, awesome) move Spring Breakers, and perhaps its her adventures into cinema that have motivated the paparazzi to follow her eagerly.
