The Many Bags of January Jones

In honor of this weekend’s Mad Men season finale, we thought that it was about time that we look into the handbag wardrobe of the show’s very own Betty Hofstadt Draper Francis, January Jones. When we do these features, we try to pick stars whose accessories choices are interesting and varied; it’s just more fun to look at someone who buys both Coach and Chanel than someone who sticks to one brand or one color or one type of bag. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life.

In that sense, January Jones fits our accessory ideal to a T. Satchels, clutches, mini crossbodies, totes, shoulder bags – she does it all, and in a variety of colors, sizes and price points. In January, I see a bit of myself: a woman who loves a good bag, no matter what form that bag might take. (Side note: I wish I saw more of myself in January, because that would probably increase my chances of being a smokin’ hot former model who knows Jon Hamm.) Take a look at some of our favorites from January’s oeuvre, after the jump.

We’ll start with January’s Yves Saint Laurent Cabas ChYc Tote because it seems like EVERY celeb has one. You can have your own for $2150 via Net-a-Porter.

January does color like a champ as well – check out this awesome Reed Krakoff Gym Bag in vivid green. $990 via Net-a-Porter.

January was the face of Versace accessories for a little while, so it’s only natural that she’d be spotted toting a Versace Suede and Leather Satchel. Unfortunately, it’s from a few seasons back and no longer available.

On the other hand, if you’d prefer something that’s a little more budget-friendly than Versace tends to be, this Coach Classic Leather Duffel holds everything you need at a great price. $398 via Coach.

If you dig color but prefer a smaller scale, January’s Tila March Zelig Studded Clutch might work out better. Unfortunately, I can’t find the reasonably priced piece anywhere online.

Also not sold online: the Chanel Wallet on a Chain Crossbody that January wore to The Webster x Target launch. You’ll have to contact Chanel at 800-550-0005 to purchase.

January’s Coach Kristn Embossed Python Crossbody is a similarly proportioned option at a much more down-to-earth price point. $238 via Coach.

Not concerned about price points? May I suggest the Dior Delices Pouch Clutch that January carried for her most recent birthday? It’s no longer online, but everything from Dior costs a pretty penny.

As far as everyday bags go, January’s got the right idea with her tonal black Givenchy Antigona Satchel. $2570 via Barneys.

And last but not least, a neat, ladylike satchel that’s perfect for someone who stars on a midcentury show like Mad Men – the Prada Pyramid Frame Bag. $2950 via Neiman Marcus.
