Technology is usually our friend, but sometimes it turns on us, and that’s what happened with our original tour through Victoria Beckham’s incredible handbag collection. She was honored earlier this week as one of Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year, and that seemed like a good reason to reconstruct and update our look at one of the world’s most famous bag addicts.


I’m currently sitting in the PurseBlog office in a backless tank top and a pair of Nikes, but I haven’t always worked in fashion, so I’m well aware that most women don’t get the same latitude when it comes to what they wear (and carry) to work.


There are two clear winners of this round-up: Fendi and Louis Vuitton. And, interestingly enough, almost every Louis Vuitton bag represented here is one of the brand’s classic logo designs instead of the newer, more subtle styles.


Sometimes, the hardware makes all the difference. Bags themselves are constrained in shape and size by functional concerns, but creating the hardware that holds them together (and that often makes them distinct) allows designers a little bit more aesthetic freedom.


Cannes is over, the Met Ball is a distant memory and even the Tonys are done, so now our celeb round-ups mainly consist of stars going about their daily celeb lives. Our first roundup this week just happens to be roughly 90% “celebs I would like to party with.” (Not so fast, Lily Collins.
