Last week, celebs attended fashion shows in NYC, shopped in Santa Monica, and schlepped through LAX with their pets, all while carrying some pretty fantastic bag choices. Today, we have an unusual mix of both celebs you’re pretty used to seeing around these parts (Olivia Palermo, Taylor friggin’ Swift) and celebs you almost never see featured here (Kirstie Alley, Jordin Sparks), as well as celebs that don’t get as much handbag glory.
Celebs spent their Thanksgiving breaks the same way we all did: navigating crowded airports and juggling unwieldy luggage, all to break bread with the family members they love but see all too rarely. All but two of the celebs pictured below are outside or inside of airports, and because celebs fully expect to be photographed at airports, their bag choices are always truly top-notch.
In some ways, it seems like Taylor Swift has been daring me to write a second investigation into her handbag collection all summer. Every day when I open our photo agency’s archives, there are new photos of her walking to and fro in New York City, enjoying her morning constitutional, her evening constitutional and sometimes several constitutionals in between, generally wearing a two-piece matching outfit and a handbag dangling from her forearm.
Our by-the-minute Taylor Swift bag coverage continues this week (of course). If you haven’t been following along, Taylor is now shamelessly baiting New York paps on a daily basis with great bags, shoes and clothes. (OR, she’s just trying to live her life as stylishly as possible, and an army of paps just happen to be following along.) If you know anything about pap life, you probably know that shots of celebs with nice bags or otherwise recognizable clothing sell well, for reasons you can probably guess.
Here are adorable, color-matching BFFs Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss, leaving NYC brunch favorite Sarabeth’s in Tribeca. Both ladies are carrying black Dolce & Gabbana bags. Taylor’s is the Dolce & Gabbana Agata Bag, while Karlie has the Dolce & Gabbana Sicily Bag (formerly known as the Miss Sicily, but apparently Dolce is looking to simplify things).
Here’s Taylor Swift, leaving the gym in NYC in the cutest post-gym outfit ever, carrying what is undoubtedly her favorite bag of the year: the Dolce & Gabbana Sara Bag. You can find a slightly more formal, brocade version of the Sara on sale for $1,274 (down from $1,820) at MATCHESFASHION.COM.
Here’s Taylor Swift, out and about in NYC because she is apparently contractually obligated to appear for cameras in at least one cute-but-attainable outfit per day, regardless of weather conditions. Taylor is carrying a Dolce & Gabbana Agata Bag that she’s been favoring recently.
Celebrities: they’re just like us, at least in that some of them go all-out for Easter, and others can’t figure out why the grocery store isn’t open on Sunday morning. Everyone from Fergie to Duchess Kate (who had her Alexander McQueen clutch altered to replace the holiday-inappropriate skull clasp) was out and about yesterday, and we took the opportunity to chronicle their Easter handbag choices, no matter whether they were headed to church or to pilates class.
Generally, stars vary their day-to-day handbag choices quite a lot. Not only does the average celebrity have plenty of money to buy whichever bag she might desire, but most are also regularly sent the Next Big Thing by brands with which they have existing relationships.
