Celebs kept it surprisingly covered up and professional this summer (marvel at how many of these celebs are wearing blazers or leather jackets), so much so that I sort of longed for the rampant daisy dukes that came to define summer 2013.
In some ways, it seems like Taylor Swift has been daring me to write a second investigation into her handbag collection all summer. Every day when I open our photo agency’s archives, there are new photos of her walking to and fro in New York City, enjoying her morning constitutional, her evening constitutional and sometimes several constitutionals in between, generally wearing a two-piece matching outfit and a handbag dangling from her forearm.
Our by-the-minute Taylor Swift bag coverage continues this week (of course). If you haven’t been following along, Taylor is now shamelessly baiting New York paps on a daily basis with great bags, shoes and clothes. (OR, she’s just trying to live her life as stylishly as possible, and an army of paps just happen to be following along.) If you know anything about pap life, you probably know that shots of celebs with nice bags or otherwise recognizable clothing sell well, for reasons you can probably guess.
Here’s Ms. Taylor Swift, taking her daily constitutional around the isle of Manhattan, carrying a sky blue Bulgari Isabella Rossellini Bag and wearing metallic Louboutins. Pricey handbag/cute dress/towering pumps is now T-Swift’s daily uniform. (I haven’t seen this girl in a pair of pants in at least two months.) You can find Taylor’s bag in burgundy red palmellato calf leather for $3,150 at Bulgari.
Here are adorable, color-matching BFFs Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss, leaving NYC brunch favorite Sarabeth’s in Tribeca. Both ladies are carrying black Dolce & Gabbana bags. Taylor’s is the Dolce & Gabbana Agata Bag, while Karlie has the Dolce & Gabbana Sicily Bag (formerly known as the Miss Sicily, but apparently Dolce is looking to simplify things).
Celebrities: they’re just like us, at least in that some of them go all-out for Easter, and others can’t figure out why the grocery store isn’t open on Sunday morning. Everyone from Fergie to Duchess Kate (who had her Alexander McQueen clutch altered to replace the holiday-inappropriate skull clasp) was out and about yesterday, and we took the opportunity to chronicle their Easter handbag choices, no matter whether they were headed to church or to pilates class.
Here’s pop star Lorde, shopping at Rag & Bone and Free People in West Hollywood with new celeb pal/fellow pop star Taylor Swift. As you can see she’s paired a navy and white Chloe Baylee Bag with a black sweater, a textured skirt, oddly prominent Nike socks and an imposing pair of oxfords with ridiculously thick soles.
Taylor Swift is not someone who pops up on PB very frequently, despite the fact that she does lay claim to a respectable designer bag stash. And yet, here’s Taylor leaving the gym in West Hollywood carrying a dark green Christian Louboutin Farida Tote – a bag I personally think is pretty underrated, though I definitely prefer the Farida in its multi-tone variations.
If you peruse our “The Many Bags of Taylor Swift” post, it quickly becomes obvious that Taylor Swift prefers classic tanned leather bags for daytime – almost exclusively, in fact. And Taylor makes no exception here, with the Mark Cross Scottie Large Flap Satchel she recently carried while greeting fans in NYC.
