In some ways, celebrities live on a different planet than you and I, but in other ways, they’re not that different at all. Most famous people weren’t born famous (or rich), and if they became that way in adulthood, they probably still remember what it was like to be a normal.
Cannes is still happening (more on that soon), but most of the celebs whose handbag choices we’re looking at today have choses to keep their very famous feet solidly on US shores. Of course, some of them have young babies at home, or very important lunch dates to keep, or they just now live in fear of fielding questions about whether or not they are indeed Becky With The Good Hair.
The Met Gala always swings back and forth between being the best red carpet of the year or, at least, the most interesting red carpet of the year. Every celeb you know and love is there (as well as a few you’d totally forgotten about), and as an added bonus, there’s no four-hour award show attached that you feel like have you have to sit through afterward.
Kerry Washington has carved out a space for herself in the fashion world using the pointy heel of a limited-edition Louboutin. She wears an insane amount of rare (and rarely seen again) Loubs in her day to day life, and in my own fantasy world, the brand promptly retires many of the styles afterwards, because how can you top Olivia Pope?
While there is usually a bit of overlap between NYFW, LFW, MFW and PFW, this year event organizers were careful mostly not to step on anyone’s toes. (With the exception of Paris of course, because Paris.) New York, London, and Milan are happening in quick succession, with no more than a day of space between all three.
It’s winter, so of course the pin-heeled Kurt Geiger Britton pumps are extremely popular with celebs this week. Celebrities go through phases with these shoes, for reasons that aren’t exactly clear. (They’re great, so you’d think we’d see them all the time.) Sure, conditions in NYC aren’t especially icy and treacherous just yet, but I don’t expect celeb shoe choices to be any more reasonable in the coming winter months.
We’ve been treating you to celeb handbag roundups on a twice-weekly basis for some time now, but now we think it’s time to look at exactly what celebs are pairing with their handbags, specifically below their ankles.
Once the air turns crisp, everyone gets excited to pull out their old fall favorites (or stock up on new fall favorites), and apparently this sort of seasonal nostalgia extends to Céline bags. Just think, in mere months our photo service will be awash in bare-legged, sandal-wearing celebrities in the snow.
The first few big bags for fall are starting to emerge, and a few of the big summer bags may have the longevity to make it until next summer. Only time (and the longevity of any given A-list celeb’s endorsement) will tell.
Today, we’re excited to announce our participation in a very important cause. Megs and PurseBlog are part of the 2015 AllState Foundation Purple Purse PURSEonal Voices network, which means we’re one of a handful of sites supporting the campaign’s efforts to spread awareness and assist victims of domestic violence and financial abuse.
Our metaphorical cup runneth over with celebrity handbags. We’re still sorting through pics from the hours preceding the Met Ball, and people’s pre-Ball handbags were sometimes more interesting than what they wore later that evening. And yes, you’re right, the Met Ball was last week, but there was so much to look at that we thought a tour through the pre-party looks we missed might be in order, plus some top-notch celebrity looks from the past few days.
