Models and Celine Bags

While the brand’s popularity has undoubtedly ebbed since an event that I will refer to as Peak Phantom Luggage Tote, models still have lots of love for their treasured Céline bags. Models across the US were seen carrying Céline bags in droves this week; when they weren’t carrying Saint Laurent, of course.

The Many Bags of Supermodels

[Editor’s Note: This week, the PurseBlog staff is out of the office to enjoy the last little bit of summer. We’ll return after Labor Day, but in the meantime, we’ll be running both new posts and a few of our favorites from the past few months to get you ready for fall.]

Models and great handbags go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Best Bags of the 2014 CFDA Awards

Although the most notorious outfit at last night’s 2014 CFDA Awards didn’t include a clutch (if you’ve seen photo’s of Rihanna’s dress from last night, you know it didn’t include much), we found plenty of attendees who carried beautiful little clutches and evening bags from both their designer dates and other brands.

Met Gala 2014 Handbags

The Met Gala is like the fashion industry’s prom; the popular girls and boys come out in their finest gowns and baubles, ready to celebrate their own fabulousness and that of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Although the 2014 Met Gala had a rather straightforward theme (“white tie and decorations,” or, in other words, “very fancy”), stars, models and socialites still managed to find plenty of places to infuse their own personal style into their sartorial choices.

Clutches at the 2013 Grammy Awards

By my estimation, the Grammy Awards awlays have the weirdest red carpet of all the major awards shows, and the 2013 Grammy Awards went on to uphold that tradition in spite of some odd dress code restrictions placed on attendees by the fun-haters at CBS.

Chrissy Teigen's YOLO Fendi Clutch

Over the weekend, model Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she had bought herself a bag that she normally wouldn’t spend money on, but this time she did, because YOLO. (If you’re unfamiliar, the phrase YOLO comes from an annoying Drake song and stands for “you only live once.”) She then posted the above picture of the bag, a bead-and-fur-covered version of the Fendi Daisy Clutch.
