There weren’t quite as many clutches to be seen on the 2015 Grammys red carpet as there usually are at major awards shows, but the ones that were there are definitely worth looking at. Grammys fashion is always so pleasantly bonkers, and almost all of the clutches we spotted were special in one way or another.

It’s safe to say a lot of celebs started the week still a tad hungover from Golden Globes after parties, but in the days leading up to the Globes, everyone was clean-cut, (comparatively) sober and busy making the long journey to LA.
Some weeks, the universe sends us nothing but Real Housewives carrying the same (beautiful, but the same) Chanel Flap Bags or Hermès Birkins we see all the time. We don’t mind those weeks (and we never tire of seeing those bags), but occasionally, the stars are aligned just so and some of our favorite actresses and singers will come out of hiding, carrying some handbags we don’t see every day.
While the brand’s popularity has undoubtedly ebbed since an event that I will refer to as Peak Phantom Luggage Tote, models still have lots of love for their treasured Céline bags. Models across the US were seen carrying Céline bags in droves this week; when they weren’t carrying Saint Laurent, of course.
Although the most notorious outfit at last night’s 2014 CFDA Awards didn’t include a clutch (if you’ve seen photo’s of Rihanna’s dress from last night, you know it didn’t include much), we found plenty of attendees who carried beautiful little clutches and evening bags from both their designer dates and other brands.
The Met Gala is like the fashion industry’s prom; the popular girls and boys come out in their finest gowns and baubles, ready to celebrate their own fabulousness and that of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Although the 2014 Met Gala had a rather straightforward theme (“white tie and decorations,” or, in other words, “very fancy”), stars, models and socialites still managed to find plenty of places to infuse their own personal style into their sartorial choices.
Over the weekend, model Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she had bought herself a bag that she normally wouldn’t spend money on, but this time she did, because YOLO. (If you’re unfamiliar, the phrase YOLO comes from an annoying Drake song and stands for “you only live once.”) She then posted the above picture of the bag, a bead-and-fur-covered version of the Fendi Daisy Clutch.
