Deals on Bags(Page 2)
Happy Friday, you guys – we’ve made it another week! It finally got around to being sorta-kinda spring in New York City this week, so everyone on the PurseBlog team is feeling an extra pep in our step. Took long enough, right? Beyond slightly elevated (relative to last week) temperatures, this Friday also brings with it a fresh iteration of our weekly bag deals list.
Today is officially the first Friday of spring! It might not feel like we’ve moved on to a new season in much of the US, but the calendar tells me so, and I believe it. (Maybe I just believe it because it’s too depressing not to, though.) In light of that, we thought we’d stock our weekly bag deals post with some rosy options to make your day a little bit warmer.
There are a lot of exciting things about the advent of spring, which starts today, but the one that’s closest to our hearts is the ability to widen our wardrobe rainbows to include the lush, rich colors of the season’s liveliness and renewal. And when it comes to a wide range of bright, saturated colors, no one does it quite like Hermes; the company often has collectors searching far and wide for the right bag in the right color.
Howdy, ladies. (Howdy? What was that? I don’t even know. It’s Friday.) On top of our ritual pre-weekend bag deals, which are still waiting for you after the jump, we’ve got a couple other fun sale-type things to talk to you about. First, Loyallist program members (it’s a free signup) at Bloomingdale’s have a special “spend some, get some” deal going on through the 24th – you can save up to $250 off your purchase, both online and in stores.
Perhaps my favorite thing about the coming seasonal shift is that the closer we get, the more season-appropriate stuff goes on sale. It may have snowed on me on the way to work yesterday morning, but I’ve surrounded myself with images of enough beautiful spring bags to keep my spirits up until the weather actually warms. (If I say that enough times, maybe it’ll actually be true.) Conveniently, some of today’s bag deals also featured spring-friendly colors and prints.
We’ve made it to March, and that means one thing and one thing only: it’s time to start plotting spring bag purchases in earnest. The unfortunate thing about buying at the beginning of the season, though, is that nothing’s on sale, and most of the genuinely great pieces will be long gone before markdowns begin. Luckily, the folks at Neiman Marcus have an alternative option for those of you who want a deal: any regular-price purchase of $250 or more at Neiman Marcus today or tomorrow nets you a gift card; buy both clothing and either a bag or pair of shoes, and that gift card doubles, up to $600 for a total purchase of $2,000 or more across both categories.
In addition to our weekly bag deals roundup, we’ve got an extra treat for you this week. Starting today, you can take 15% off your Bloomingdale’s purchase (20% if you use your Bloomies card) through March 3 with code SHOP13. As we say often, there’s no sale better than the sale you pick for yourself, so get to shopping at Bloomingdale’s.
I love expensive bags just as much as the next girl, but just because I talk about them often doesn’t mean they magically appear on my doorstep when I wake up. I might not be the best deal hunter, but I am great at finding beautiful bags at great prices. Lately, my go-to has been BCBGMAXAZRIA, who continues to prove that a great design doesn’t always need to cost thousands of dollars.
It’s going to be spring at some point, right? Not fashion spring, but Real Spring, where I get to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and, perhaps, leave my apartment without outerwear? This winter has seemed nearly interminable, and unfortunately for me, there’s not really a light at the end of the tunnel yet. There are definitely bags at the end of the tunnel, though, both for the lucky among us who live in warmer climates and those of us who are going to be dealing with winter weather for a little longer.
