Yesterday afternoon marked the VIP night of this year’s bi-annual Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale. Since we were co-hosting the sale, Megs and I were invited to enter an hour before the doors opened to the public to check out the goods, mingle with celebs like Michelle Trachtenberg of Gossip Girl and chat with the RM team.

The initial onslaught of shoppers hit right when the doors opened at 4pm. An hour after the opening the line of awaiting shoppers actually vanished off 5th Avenue, just to then resurge with people leaving work around 6:30pm. Friends told us that the line eventually wrapped nearly two blocks by 8-9pm.

I have been test-driving the Tory Burch Robinson Tote for the past few weeks and fallen in love with it. Tory’s accessory collection continues to grow and offer fun and functional designs. The over-sized logo has been toned down making the bags perfectly Tory without being overly in-your-face.

This collection has so many aspects to praise, starting with the sturdy and durable leather. The body of the bag keeps shape easily but is not overly stiff. In fact, if you are looking for a work bag or a perfect mother’s day gift, the Robinson Tote should be added to your list of potential options.

Yesterday we told you about the Fendi 2Bag monogramming event happening at Bergdorf Goodman today. You still have time to stop by, as it lasts until 5 pm, but either way have the pleasure of showing you the Fendi goodies BG has to offer.

Of course the main focus is the 2Bag and the option of monogramming it, but there are also many fabulous Fendi items (including an exclusive trench for BG). We love the direction Fendi continues to take with their handbags, bringing back classics with bold colors and stylish finishes.

I have to give you all a peek at my newest addition to my handbag family, my Diane von Furstenberg Medium Stephanie in navy. You all recently saw my large version of this bag, and my love for it only deepens with the addition of the medium size.

For Spring 2011, we see Diane von Furstenberg emphasizing much more on her bags and accessories line, which we welcome very much. We see many new bags, as well as some old ones with new features. The popular Stephanie relies now on much lighter leather, making it much more wearable than the previous interation (which was a bit of a weighty pig, if I may say so). While the Harper gets the suede treatment, DvF brings back old print patterns from the mid-70s for fun vintage accessories.

Earlier this week we popped into the Diane von Furstenberg showroom to see all of the amazing accessories arriving soon (we have a huge spring look for you all coming tomorrow). DvF continues to nudge her way into the competitive handbag market effortlessly, bringing fresh designs that are grabbing attention.
