Mulberry Jody Shoulder Bag

May 12, 2009 / Posted in Mulberry Handbags, Shoulder Bags by Amanda Mull.

Mulberry Jody Shoulder BagI think that this may be the best actualization of a bag with two sets of handles that I’ve seen in quite a while. Face it – two sets of handles on one bag has the potential to be incredibly awkward, and almost always realizes that potential. It usually ends up looking floppy and messy, with straps hanging everywhere and obscuring pockets, seaming, and other design details.

The Mulberry Jody Shoulder Bag makes it work rather well, though. And I think one small detail is the key – the satchel straps lock in to place with a metal and leather loop that holds them down (and folds the bag over) when not in use. And this makes all the difference. There’s no awkward flapping and sagging; instead, the bag looks like it was designed with all of its attributes taken into consideration, and the entire finished product actually LOOKS finished. It’s funny that a simple leather attachment and metal lock can change the game on bags with two carrying options, but all the other brands out there have something to learn from this bag. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $825.

Although i like the attachment that locks the straps but still it reminds me of a school bag.

i like the way this entire bag looks, even for black. the grey polished hardware is lovely and locking the handles down gives the entire bag a completeness. Talk about a fantastic price, Mulberry!

I love Mulberry – great quality for reasonable prices. And this bag is just stunning; if I weren’t saving up for H I’d so go for this bag!

Well, I don´t like this bag one bit. I think that it is s o ugly. Having seen Mulberry bags, I think that the leather they use looks cheap and that explains the low price.

Agreed, this style actually makes the odd 3-handles trend work.

I love it – it’s even more gorgeous IRL!! I only imagine that the flap makes it a bit difficult to get things in and out – but I love the look and function!!

All the Mulberry stores here in Sweden got it, but there are few of them. Each store got like two bags each. I’m heading downtown to get the last Jody (small size) this afternoon =) It’s gorgeous, it looks so much better IRL.

I have this bag in red and it’s so much nicer in person than in the pics! The pic doesn’t do it justice! it’s absolutely gorgeous, lined with white and navy pinstripe….beautiful! I love mulberry bags, so stylish with out being OOT and so classic with out being boring.
