I tend to be attracted to large slouchy bags. I suppose with my height and style they are perfect. But I do realize that I need a few more everyday structured bags. Ok really, that is just an excuse to buy more bags, but I am ok with it. I am really drawn to the Anya Hindmarch Bess Shoulder Bag which sports a retro-style and a gold chain strap. The color of the leather is perfect, a rich creamy camel color on supple calf leather, which is offset by gold hardware. The shape is perfect, it provides structure but a casual-chic appeal which can easily be dressed up or dressed down. The chain strap has a leather top with metallic detail at the center. The handbag is finished off with a fold-over flap and magnetic closure. Buy through Net A Porter for $1,200.
I LIKE THIS ONE! The color is very understated, but the design has enough quirky bits and details that make it stand out. It sort of looks like a saddle, which I’ve decided is the best inspiration for a bag. The handle looks comfortable, and the whole thing looks lite. I’m not the biggest Anya Hindmarch fan, but this one is great!

feels like butter. MMMMMMM…
A very classic look, will last for styles to come.
And..although I really like all the metal on current bags,
this one will allow me to put more in it, as the metal does add weight.

Mm yes, I too can just feel the buttery softness of this purse. However this purse reminds me so much of a saddle, one would almost think you should try to straddle it, rather than wear it. It’s a little too plain jane for my tastes.

Very confused?? Anya Hindmarch’s Hopkins or the Bess(in cream)?
I like the clean lines of the Bess and that it looks different from every other bag out there! But is it as versatile as the Hopkins? Does anyone know the dimensions on the Bess?

I know this post was published yonks ago, but I just had to say that I have this in cream and the leather is simply to die for. To me, I see the bag as an understated charm. I get quite a lot of sideway glances when I wear this.
