I’ve spilled a lot of Internet ink over my thoughts on straw bags and their attendant pricing structures, and usually anything I find that I actually like fall outside of my self-imposed, completely arbitrary $200 limit for a bag made entirely or almost entire of raffia or any other kind of glorified dried grass.
Which is why I was so happy to see the Mar Y Sol Lug Beach Tote. Not only is the chic color blocked design very current, but the sub-$100 price tag means that not only could I allow myself to buy it, but I could also allow myself to take it to the actual beach. You know, if I ever went to such a place. Which I probably won’t, at the rate that I spend money on handbags. But I can dream.
Mar Y Sol seems to come out with at least a couple of straw bags that I love every time the weather starts to get a bit warmer, but the simplicity of this tote makes it one of my favorites from the brand. The coordinating leather handles are a nice touch, and the bag is surely roomy enough to fit all of your essentials, whether you’re going to the beach or to the mall. The best part, naturally, is the price. Buy through ShopBop for $81.
