Pay no attention to this post’s title, it means nothing. I’m on my fourth day of snow captivity and it’s doing weird things to my head, including making me write stupid titles. Even though I’m a blogger, I do make a concerted effort to get dressed and leave my house every day, and I’m starting to get seriously antsy.

Anyway, enough about me. Let’s talk about the Botkier Venice Satchel, which is clearly deserving of a much better headline, what with the gorgeous avocado green color it’s sporting here. As I’ve mentioned before, the Venice is among my favorite of the Botkier lines, and this yellow-y green iteration of the satchel is one of my favorite bags from the brand in years.

I wrote on PurseBlog not long ago that yellow-tinged greens would be big for spring, and I wasn’t kidding. A color likes this looks great against warm-weather whites, and because it’s an accessory instead of an article of clothing, skin tone considerations are not quite so important. If you’re still worried about the color making you look sallow or washed out, this slightly mellow version is a perfect compromise. Buy through Nordstrom for $595.

I love the bag. It’s in my favorite shape-north/south, but I don’t really like the color. But I could really go for the pearl/grey that they also have.

Beautiful. I always turn to lighter greens for spring and this would be perfect. (ipad)

Love the bag. Hate the color. I feel nauseated.

I haven’t bought a Botkier in quite a while. This bag has me thinking it’s time to revisit the brand! I definitely want to see this color IRL. (ipad)

I would get tired of this color very quickly. Might be great in a rich purple or grey color. (ipad)

I saw this today at Nordstrom. It is not as bright as the picture. I really liked it!

The only thing worse than a bag in this color would be a car in this color (ipad)

Not impressed by its generic style used by many designers (see the bright purple Rebecca Minkoff’s Everyday Tote featured Dec.30, 2010, that looks very similar). And those messy tassels (?), zippers, belts, and the strange, “in-between” color? If it’s darker in person, I guess that would be different. On my monitor, which was just calibrated, it looks like stale mustard. Not impressed at all. Less is more! (ipad)

don’t like all the zippers (ipad)

Hmmmm, better if it had gold hardware, the silver clashes. (ipad)

  • Limey

I could do without the tassels. (ipad)

This bag ticks all the boxes (ipad)

i really like the shape and style of the bag but I would love it way more in another color- this green reminds me of a lime that’s been left out too long! haha (ipad)

  • Karin bag4bag

I LOVE the design, who doesn’t love multiple zip design on a bag ! But the color – can’t live with it. (ipad)

    Zip zip zip! (ipad)

Ugh, more tassels! I really wanted to like this bag since I’m a fan of botkier but this color and those tassels are a big no for me. Maybe a deep rich purple would tickle my fancy…(ipad)
